His class is really fun, yes lectures are long but somedays he cuts class pretty short. He likes to relate things back to things he has experienced. Also, if your looking for jobs in this field everyday at the beginning of class he puts up places hiring on the board. You do not need to buy your textbook it never gets used. I would take again!

Absolutely loved him! He teaches you so much and I am proud to say I actually learned something from this man. The class is very interesting however sometimes it can be boring. He gives 2 assignments for the year and 8 quizzes based on the notes he gives. Very easy class and I recommend it. Also, His daughter is an olympic swimmer! Very cool!

Great Teacher. Won OCC Teacher of the year last semester too. Very nice person who gladly helped if you asked for help. Morning math classes are hard but he made it a bit easier.

I really enjoyed my time in this class. His personality reminds me of a Chandler Bing/Ross Geller from Friends. Attendance is 100 points towards your grade and make sure to come on time because pop quizzes occur at the beginning of class. Lectures were sometimes interesting and boring. Textbooks are rarely used. I recommend!

Long Class and early in the morning but he makes it as interesting as possible. He is extremely helpful and doesnt mind staying after to help you. He is funny and also happens to be be Amanda Beard's dad and will gladly give you an autographed picture of her if you ask and are interested in swimming.

I've taken 3 classes with Mr. Beard and done well in all. RESTAURANT MATH-Go to all classes if possible and do all homework. The subject matter is difficult, lectures valuable. HOSPITALITY-A little dull due to class being so general and not specific.Resume portion was very helpful.HUMAN RESOURCE/MANAGEMENT-Extremely educatoinal and job relative.

Ugh, this class is so boring! People only take it because it's a requirement. As long as you do well on your papers and have perfect attendance, you'l get by with an A. I didn't do too well on my quizzes, but thankfully they weren't a huge portion of your grade. Make sure you study for the midterm and final because they're worth a lot. Stay awake.

I had him for Food Service Management Math & Accounting and overall, he's not to shabby. He can be dry with his lectures since the class is four hours long... Do the homework. If you don't, he'll give you "alternative" assignments and "from the standpoint" he gives you full credit anyways. Do the work and read the NRAEF book and listen!

Very boring. Monotone and likes to say "From that standpoint" after everything he explains. The class is super easy, just take notes and you'll be fine. I never used the text book and I passed with an A. If you can stay awake in his class you'll be fine.

Easy class. Just glance at your notes before class and you will do well on the quizzes. He tells you exactly what is on the tests. You do not use the book at all, waste of money. The only thing that I didn't like was that since it is also CA100 & FSM 100, the main focus is on culinary and my major is hotels/hospitality.
