Comment:
He taught almost all of the software engineering courses at SSCC from around 2004 to 2008 at least. He's funny and engaging, and really knew the material he was teaching and got us to focus on practical skills as well. He really helped us prepare for our careers and made a difference in my life. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Comment:
A fun teacher that uses humor to lighten the stress when we get confused with code. He can go a bit fast paced at times leading to more questions about assignments after demonstrations. His classes are hard but he really knows his stuff and can teach multiple courses.

Remarkably competent, no BS teacher who knows the industry well enough to know what to teach. Plus he is dryly humorous.

I think Dan puts too much emphasis on "figure it out for yourself." If I wanted to be self-taught, I wouldn't be going to school. As a consequence, students can spend days poring over Web sites and books trying to figure out how to do his assignments. A better approach would be to FULLY demonstrate.
