GOOD PROF! his lectures might not be that clear but he is a BRILLIANT PROF. If you just take the time to know him and engage yourself he will almost do anything to help you in the class and his connections are limitless. Highly recommend taking the class!

Very easy to talk to, but impossible to follow in class. I found myself giving my own opinion on tests and got an A, but it was not from anything he told us. He never explained papers, presentations and tests.

Oh. My. Gosh. Babbling prof who has spiddle between his lips whenever he talks. He lectures sitting down and just talks at you. No powerpoint, no notes. It is ridiculous. He can't stay on topic. Loves the west and water politics. He's been teaching at Hope since 1969. Nuff said. Time to go.

I really enjoyed being in his class. I worked hard and my grade reflected it. I am going to continue to take classes with him because I like the challenge he gives. He does not have unreal expectations from his students.

He is a really intelligent guy, but his lectures can be a bit boring. I do my homework and do well on the tests but I don't really enjoy the class that much. It's an interesting topic but I don't like how the class is structured.

GREAT professor. For anyone who is lazy, you won't like him. Because unlike Toppen or other professors, he actually believes college is about working to learn something. He has a wealth of knowledge students would be fools not to tap into.

He dosnt care to much about his students and how well they are doing. He seems disconnected from anything but his own conservative veiw points. You are always wondering when he is going to fall over and die of a hart attack, and left hoping that it is not in class period. Dont take this prof.

Holmes is a horrible teacher. He jumps all over his syllabus and then the tests are over things not even covered in class or the readings. If you have to take IR take it Spring 2005 becuase he will be in Washington and Annie D. is teaching the class.

Not a very good professor. Not helpful and very hard to understand. Basically a large puppet of a Political Party. While he claims to be from one mold of Political Philosophy, he is willing to bend his claims and his theories to support his Party.

Ditto what eveyone else said. He should not be the chairman of political science department! He is the worst lecturer I have ever had. I am purposly taking a class in the summer to avoid having him.
