Best literature instructor I've ever had. There are regular quizzes, but they're very easy. If you read the material, you'll get the questions right. So it helps fluff your grade and also create engaging conversations. Super fun way to learn the material!

My all time favorite professor at OTC - he's funny and knows his stuff. You have to sit down and read EVERYTHING he tells you to read and show up every day or you won't pass. Assignments are easy and you're allowed to fill out a note card for every test (take advantage of this). If you do the work and show up, you will love learning from this man.

Ball is the worst english professor I've ever had. I didn't read a single thing all semester long, just used spark notes & googled the test questions since he gave them to us before. The in class discussions over the reading were zero help since most classmates didn't read, then when it was Ball's turn to discuss he would just ramble about nothing.

Dr. Ball is excellent. He's obviously intelligent but not condescending at all. Makes what would be difficult projects easy with the way he teaches and leads. Can't say enough good things.

Wow. The best teacher I think I have ever had. Does a great job of preparing you for future college endeavors and does it in a fun way. You will learn a lot in this class, both on and off the field. Come to class every day and you will pass with an A!

Dr. Ball is excellent. He expects you to do the work assigned, and show up every day, but if you do you will pass and learn a ton of wisdom. He's an honest, wise, competent, and funny person, and although he may seem gruff he truly cares about his students and their education.

David Ball is an amazing teacher. He really knows what he's talking about, and he is easy to get along with. Do what he expects from you, turn your work in, and go to class. If you do these things, you'll be okay... He's also strangely attractive, in an old-guy-in-charge kind of way.

Amazing!!! You have to work hard for your grade, but he is the best teacher I've ever had. His class was always interesting, and so is he. Take his class even if you don't like english just to be able to experience him.

I'm currently in his class and took one last semester too. After last semester I even wrote a positive review. However, this semester I've been extremely disappointed. If you ask him a question that he deems stupid, he will make you look and feel like a complete moron in front of the whole class. He needs to get his attitude in check.

Very, very good teacher with a great sense of humor. He lets you know exactly what is expected of you. The texts are a bit lengthy but not too hard if you've read and discussed the material. He's very entertaining and each discussion was thought provoking.

Cheers, Dave, for being one of the last best professors out there. Take his classes, guys. You'll learn a lot about English, and you'll see a good example of what teaching ought to be, a little more often. Hats off to this man for standing for something.

David Ball is an amazing teacher! He's one of the favorites I have currently. He is very clear on assignments, and is willing to help you as often as you need. He also tells stories in the class which help you to stay entertained. Overall, I'd recommend this teacher to any student who is requiring this class.
