Waste!! He mark you a grade down for 1 mistake on a paper, I took him over winter session and we did 4 essays each 6-7 pages. Other teachers will give you an A or a B but he will give you as C and D for just few reasons . He also keep changing his statements and want us to write the way he want.

Get ready to conform, for what is likely to make you better. You don't have to agree with him, just follow HIS style of writing an essay and you should pass. Some advice, do not try to override his style with your own, the class assumes you're relatively new to writing critically, and he gives you a template to follow to ensure a solid standard.

He makes up his own style of writing and expects you to follow it. Assigns essays three days before its due, then changes his requirements last minute. Grades harshly, always run your essays through tutors even though the tutors will tell you the style is wrong. He is very condescending and believes he is always right.

Professor Gonzales is a great teacher and really shows you how to write at a college level. Gives plenty of time for you to do the work assigned. Gives great feedback and several opportunities to make up work. Although has bit of an aggressive tone but he does not intend to come off that way. A real cool cat and his advice for life is a real plus

Gonzales is an awesome teacher, he gives great feedback, and is always accessible outside of class. He does have strict deadlines and expects nothing short of excellence from his students. BUT.... he quite literally taught me how to write at a college level and reshaped my idea of writing well. He is really funny and has a killer life-story.

He gives out a lot of homework and doesnt give you enough time to complete all of it. He gives out assignments and homework and doesnt explain it at all.

He gives you so much homework, and expects you to do it in a short period of time. You better read and bring the text he tells you too or he will be mad. He is always speaking of how he doesn't care if you don't do the work he says its your choice, but in reality he actually does care and gets annoyed. Hardest English teacher I have had.

SO MANY USELESS TANGENTS. The first two class periods were just him ranting endlessly. Then, once those classes were over there were daily assignments, ones that would should have been due weeks after being assigned, as they all took hours to complete. Do not have a job or you will be told to sacrifice it. I had to drop the class.

This guy is TOUGH, he has strict deadlines and expects nothing short of excellence from his students. BUT.... he quite literally taught me how to write at a college level. If it wasn't for him, I'd seriously not do good at my next school (T20). He reshaped my idea of writing well. He's also really funny and has a killer life-story. Take his class.

Dropped this class a month before the semester ended. I would hand in my best essays and would still receive D's. I would inform him that I wouldnt be able to attend class for religion purposes and he would hold me accountable and get mad at me in front of everyone for being unprepared. Would brag about being a strict grader. No tests/quizs

enjoyed his lectures & understand that he is just hard on the class cause he really just wants everyone to learn BUT he is not good at giving clear feedback and if you ask him a question he will make you feel stupid. Students seemed to always be scared to ask anything because he will belittle you on the spot. Wish he was more patient with students

Most interesting and helpful English teachers I ever had in my entire school career! He never has a moment of being the generic boring English teachers that teach by the book. He relates the readings to current events and even social constructs. He goes beyond to help you do good in the class and has the material being genuinely interesting.

This professor will mark you down a letter grade for 1 mistake on a paper, I took him over winter session and out of probably 150 papers he graded he gave 4 A's. Other teachers at pierce will give you an A or a B for the Papers Gonzales grade's as C's and D's. I was grateful for a C in this class. He would mark me down a grade for Misspelling.

As long as you follow instructions and turn in work on time you will be fine. He explains everything in his lectures, so don't skip because it is likely you will miss something important.

Ive taken this professor just now in the fall semester. Worst professor ever. Ive been trying to following direction, tried to rewrite essays for him after he graded them, and I still couldnt get a passing grade. Hes very disorganized and his lectures are extremely confusing. If you want to have an English 101 class, DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY.

he's super nice during office hours and the papers are easy. the only thing that's stressful is the long period of time where you don't really know what your overall grade is. You have to put time into this class. he helps a lot though.

I took him for Summer '17 (eng 28) and for Fall '17 (eng 101). Eng 28 was normal and I learned a lot. 4 essays in 5 weeks. Eng 101 was another story. If you work or have other priorities do not take this class, it takes too much time. As english is my second language, it was really hard. We read 2 books. 4 essays and 1 research paper.

DO NOT TAKE. I took him during a winter session and your whole life will be consumed by this class. I had to dedicate whole days just to do hw. He is unclear about the prompts of most essays. I've been an A student my whole life in English classes and found this class to be difficult. He also yells a lot which doesnt not help students learn!

Professor Gonzales is quite a character. He can come off as intimidating and rude in the beginning but then you will adjust. In order to get an A on your papers you must see him in his office hours as he is very specific and picky on how he wants the work done. Other than that he can get too carried away with life-lectures/experiences.
