If you just show up to class, you'll have all the information you need to pass; I never even cracked the textbook. She's passionate and accessible. She really really wants to see everyone pass the class and will help you in any way she can.

She lectures right from the book & lectures are engaging. Europe is her jam, so unless you hate yourself & want to read 600 pages, just show up to class every day and take notes. Never even opened the book except to study for map quizzes. There are a couple papers, one on King Arthur that was fun to write. 2 papers, 2 map quizzes, midterm & final.

Diane could most easily be described by the word "oddball" and I mean that in a truly complimentary way. She clearly loves history and often gets swept up in talking about it, but she is funny and her lectures are interesting. Tests are infrequent but expect a few papers (online has more). Whenever you DO have a test she brings treats, though!

If you have to take a liberal arts class (and we all have to take a few), Professor Muir seems to be a good choice. She is entertaining and passionate about her subject. Sometimes she is a bit too much, though. Really, I just want to check in once a week and take the tests for this kind of class. She wants to involve you, which can be painful.

Soc 110 was the first class I took at GHCC, the quarter she taught it. The first day of class she came in and said she did not believe in sociology as a science and disagreed with the book on many points.

I acctully shouldn't be griping on her because I got a good grade from the class, but anyway I found that shee didn't keep on topic alot of the time so we didn't have enough time in class to go over everything

Diane jumps around to much and is very unclear. While she tries to make the class fun she actually makes it more difficult. I actually advised my sister to not take SOC 110 with her due to its difficulty.
