Really cares about mental health. Fun to dive into the texts, very knowledgable. She's tough to write papers for though. She has specific words she doesn't like, but won't tell you what they are, so you're bound to get points off for that. Gives a really good understanding of the texts and is a fun lady.

Rothleder is extremely quirky and sympathetic towards her students. She helps you understand the content in Honors and will email you endlessly if you have questions. However, it is VERY!! difficult to get an A from her on the Honors papers in her section. It seemed I would spend every second working on them and still get a B. Take Whidden instead

She talked more about tofu and running in her lectures than the actual topic. I walked out of her class more confused than when I came in. Her expectations for her papers are a lot more than for other honors teachers, and emailing her won't help you at all. You're better off learning the book using sparknotes and other sources than going to class

Probably the best professor for d101! Bases class off students questions/what they want to talk about and you dont have to participate. Focuses a lot on abstract/philosophical ideas and looks for specific ideas in papers but if you include what shes looking for shes one of the few professors who will give out As. Take her!

She's a super cool hippie chick! She has face blindness but works very hard to recognize everyone, even though it's impossible for her. That being said, she cares about your success and your ideas, even if they're kinda stupid. She is very understanding about any accommodations you might need, and is always ready to offer solutions.

Dr. Rothleder is really kind and absolutely hilarious, but she demands the longest papers in the honors program and is a fairly tough grader. She can also be a little difficult to follow, but she's happy to clarify in class, office hours, or via email.

Mrs. Rothleder is the REASON Im still in the honors program. I was struggling with the material and was about to drop but she was super caring and helped me find ways to succeed in class. Shes also hilarious and makes everyone around her happy. Her discussions are well thought out and deep so you will always have great insight on the texts.

Rothleder seems to expect more with her papers than other honors professors. The extra effort is worth it because her discussions are pretty thought provoking and she really wants you to actually get something out of the honors program, and will make you a better writer even though she might wreck your confidence a little bit

If you really want to subject yourself to the honors program, Dianne's section is the way to do it. Super caring about the mental well-being of her students which is nice because first year honors is hell--but she wants you to do well. Be aware that she wants 6+ page essays when the other professors cap it at 4.

Dianne is a wonderful choice for a first semester honors student. She's extremely quirky, but she gives good insight into the texts. Her discussion section is a rather low-key and fluid. She doesn't take attendance after the first few classes. She has longer requirements for papers & you'll do better if you err on the side of writing more.

Dianne is interesting. I came into this class with the impression that she was the best honors prof and was really surprised by her. She's a good professor, super knowledgable, but also out there. She has light pink hair and always sits on her desk barefoot. When we actually talk about the books, she gives good info, but also lots of rambling.

She is honestly the light of my freshman year. Best honors prof, excellent at responding to emails, hilarious, really makes you work as a student, writer, and a thinker! Honors is definitely not a walk in the park, but Dianne (YO WOMAN) makes it definitely bearable. Also, if you're thinking about honors, READ LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW

Loved her in PHIL130. The reading and papers aren't the most interesting, but she gives great lectures and is really high energy and funny. She also explains the texts in great detail during class in ways that keep students engaged. Gives a lot of quizzes, so reading is mandatory, and there are only 2 papers. Would definitely recommend her.

Diane is absolutely psycho but it works for her. she lectures class barefooted and sits cross-leged on a desk the whole time. she yells for no reason and will call on u randomly. but all of that aside, she has made this mandatory class so engaging and easy to grasp. she's super clear on what she wants. quiz almost every class on reading + 2 papers.

She really cares about you, will e-mail you as much as you want for papers. Read & put in the effort and you will be fine. She is this whimsical woman who loves hello kitty & running half marathons. Papers longer than other sections (5-7 pages) but she's great. Sometimes a little confusing but always willing to help. Her section fills up in 2 mins.

Casual and funny! You can email her as MANY times as you need for the papers and she responds quickly w cute side notes. She also gives reading guides for each book that outlines the points she thinks are important and gives some background. i think her best quality is how willing to help she is! requires 5-7 pgspaper instead of 3-5 like others

Very hilarious and energetic woman. She tries to make the class lectures super interesting and easy to understand. Gives pop quizzes, especially if attendance is low, but some days you get extra credit just for showing up. No exams, only 2 papers and the pop quizzes for grading.
