Comment:

This woman is an angel. She's so aware about how soc affects everyone and makes sure her classes realize their privilege. I'd recommend taking the final exam instead of the paper bc she's definitely a harder paper grader. By far my favorite teacher I've had up here and ended up adding a soc minor simply because of how amazing her class was.

Comment:

She is a very nice lady and easy to talk to. I enjoyed the class and actually learned a lot. Make sure you go, because she has in class assignments that are not posted on canvas. The tests are online which make it really easy to use notes. I loved the class and the lectures were fun and interesting. Recommend taking for an easy A!

She was nice. Showed up for class. Watched a lot of videos and wrote some papers and did like a few group activities. The exams are easy and I recommend doing the exam instead of the paper for the final.

She really makes that class interesting and more enjoyable. The work you have to do is expected, but too horrible. I loved it and she made it even more fun to go to class and learn.

Diane is really great. The class content is very interesting and the textbook is one that I actually may end up keeping. This class definitely had a lot of assignments but none of them were over the top. I would highly recommend this course.

Professor Schott is incredibly passionate and energetic. She makes the more boring aspects of Sociology much more entertaining and explains the difficult content in much easier ways. She doesn't have an attendance policy but it helps a ton to attend class for her explanations and participation points. love her.

Comment:

Loved this class and Prof Schott. We talked about a lot of deep things and she was always very open about things. Exams are pretty difficult but she gives good lectures. Her personality made this class my favorite and she was very understanding when emergencies occurred.

She is a fantastic teacher, she brought us food during her lectures to get us "in touch with our childhood". Test are tough but if you pay attention in class and read the books, you'll be fine. Attendance isn't mandatory. Don't miss too many classes though or it is easy to be lost. Would recommend.

Diane is a gem. She's hilarious and enthusiastic when it comes to sociology, which makes some of the drier content of an intro soc class a lot more interesting! Her expectations on papers are clear and she provides good feedback on your writing. Tests are all online and based on the book, so make sure to buy the textbook and read! Wonderful prof!

Expectations for what I would learn in the course were clearly stated in the syllabus, with few exceptions of major projects. Exceptions were addressed throughout the course. Content of the course was organized and easily understood. Failed to provide constructive feedback on assignments. Atmosphere allowed for open discussion. MUST READ BOOK.

This is my second class with Schott and I love her! She is just an all around great person and wants to help everyone in the most positive way. She really loves her job and it shows. The class was fairly easy, two exams, group debate, few small assignments and a final paper. I plan on always taking classes with her when I can!

She was a fine professor. Very passionate about what she teaches and is pretty understanding. I can't say much else about her though because I took her class online. Just wish it was structured differently and that she would provide more constructive feedback than a simple "Good job." or a "You didn't do this."

I loved her class!! She made sociology so fun for me! Anytime I went to her office hours she was very helpful! :) I passed with an A, but you do need to pay attention to terms. She uses pictures to help the class out but if it does not help you, go talk to her! She is an open book.

Comment:

Diane's class was my easiest class of the spring semester. She cancelled class at least once every two weeks and I skipped it at least once a week and I have a good grade in the class. Her lectures are irrelevant for the tests, which are super easy because they're online (quizlet!!). She's an awesome person though, I'd recommend this class!

Overall, not what I was expecting from the class. Lectures are vague in comparison to what is actually on the test. It is all super specific and straight out of the book. Easy class overall, but harder than what I was expecting for an LAC credit when it came to the tests.

Shes a very nice person however, class lecture has nothing to do with the tests. The tests are hard and straight form the book and she would prefer to talk about stories and stuff that will not be on the tests.

Comment:

Diane is a really great professor. She gives a lot of in class extra-credit, but it's only occasionally so you have to go. Lectures are interesting, but tests are straight out of the book so if you don't go to class, you could probably still pass. Her lectures are interesting, and she is incredibly entertaining. Enjoyed her class.
