This class is awful, and taking it in summer is even worse. She is very old. I'm assuming between 80 and 85. Given that you can expect exactly that type of teaching. Class is confusing, especially with formulas since she doesn't tell you how do them in the first place. Waaaay outdated materials. We watched a VHS on supply and demand from early 80's

Professor Sanford is a horrible teacherĂ¢€¦ Although she knows her stuff, she is very old and is not very good at getting that across. She needs a microphone to speak to the class: I sat in the front row and could still barely hear her at times. Whenever you asked her a question, she is not able to hear it and answers a different one. But she's nice.

OK I took this class in Fall Semester and the key is to prepare your talks early. Be helpful. Both of these earn extra credit. That will cover your quiz scores. The key is to end up with an overall average. Don't miss class, don't be late. The information is given when class begins. Oh, also read the book ahead, very important!

Definitely do all the talks and reach ch. before weekly quiz. Learn the vocabulary of this subject, it is mostly vocabulary and definitions for example know what GDP is. Do you know what real GDP is? This kind of stuff.

Ms. Sanford is a nice lady. Weekly multiple and T/F quizzes. She'll actually give you some of the questions straight from the quizzes too! The quizzes are 60% of your grade. Attendance is 20%, final is 20%. I would say this class is definitely an easy B or C. You would have to read the book if you want that A! I recommend her. She knows her stuff!

DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. Main reason being, you will learn nothing from her. Material is outdated and teaching style is boring. If you are motivated and like to self study then this class is not so bad. If you want lectures to be engaging and informative, then you are looking at the wrong professor.

I just took her a class this semester & all I have to say is DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!!!! Yah, the class is easy & she's very nice, but her weekly quiz are impossible. She doesn't follow the book & she creates lectures based on older editions of the book. If you take her class BUY THE STUDYGUIDE and do the talks because that's the only way you'll pass.

I've taken her several times, so can tell you the style...M/C quiz every week, and student talks for extra credit. You should definitely do student presentations, even if you don't like to speak in front of everyone, it will get you an A. She knows students (long time teaching) If you show that you know about the subject she delights.

She's Old, but very helpful. I took her for summer school, we had a quiz 4 times a week, 25 questions. T/F. The quizzes were pretty hard. So STUDY. REad the chapters! I studied everyday, and I ended up with an A in the class :) She gives lots of opportunity for extra credit! DO THEM!!!

took her over the summer of 09. nice lady, tries to help, but you will NEVER know what to expect on the tests because they are mostly tricky true/false questions. for daily extra credit of 5 pts, read the wallstreet journal. she drops your lowest grade + you can make up 2 tests by talking about economics. got a D avg on tests & ended up with a C

Class is hard only because you'll never know what's on the test until you get it. Stuff that you've never learned in class will sometimes pop up in tests. A quiz every week. The book is useless since she doesn't teach out of it. It's hard to hear her&she sometimes dozes off. In order to pass DO THE XTRA CREDIT. It'll bump you up at least one grade.

she is very hard, if I didn't take an econ class with a very difficult teacher in high school, I think I will get F, but I got an A in her summer sclass. Her voice is low, I can't hear her at all, I just read the book every day, but that's still not helpful, because her tests are very hard, you can't guess what questions are on them.

She is very softspoken but so very nice. I skipped class a lot, did mediocre on the quizzes each week, and i doubt i did that well on the final, but i received a B. I helped her out a lot setting up equip and writing on the board. Not so much of me being a kiss-ass but because she asked. It paid off though.
