He never seems to put marks on acting work. This makes it very hard to improve on what one's doing. I know any time I do an assignment it won't be looked at and that is very discouraging. I wish he spent as much time grading work as he did giving advice when we're acting. That would be good.

I don't know if this man's just run down or what because all these reviews say he's great, but then we get to class and he cancels all the time and seems to never look at any of the work we hand in. I was really pumped to take his classes, but after the several I've had I can't say I know any more than what I've read from the books. This is sad.

Had him for LAO perspectives, great guy. Very informal class. Dosn't make you do any useless crap for perspectives. Friendly and helpful. Had very minimal hw/classwork.

Doug is a fantastic professor. He makes the lessons very interesting and always makes the class laugh. There are a decent amount of readings, but nothing incredibly boring. Truly, any student would be lucky to have Doug for a professor.

I absolutely love this class. I didn't even want to take it, I was just placed in it, but I love it. It's by far my best discussion class. It's not so much about theatre as it is about culture and really pertinent issues. He's really insightful and interesting. If you want your fine arts core out of the way, TAKE THIS CLASS! It rocks hardcore.

On one hand, Doug was all the things listed above, but then again, he did scream and my class and me for a full three weeks because I didn't agree with my textbook. He went as far as to call me a spoiled little brat, an idiot, and unprofessional fool, and someone who will be lucky to get into some community theatre. Taught me a lot, but a dick

Doug is a difficult person. Extremely talented and capable, he has the capacity to move mountains and share innovations in theatre with his students; just as he has the capacity to gossip and act in a reprehensible, inappropraite manner to get what he wants. My thoughts of Doug are always paradoxical.

Doug is one of the greatest teachers anyone can ever have. He is amazing at what he does. He knows everything about everything. Take every class possible with him.
