Honestly, if youre taking his drawing class be prepared to not actually learn anything. I went the entire semester and he never drew anything except sloppy geometric shapes. Whether hes a good artist or not, he never really showed it or explained anything useful or helpful. I taught myself better than he could ever teach.

Comment:

The AWFUL rating is spot on. Will change answers and perspective to fit his view even if the answer contradicts him in the book he is teaching from, has a tendency to turn his disorganization around on you so keep notes and details as not to affect your grade, not so much a teacher as much as a disciplinarian. Should not be teaching Art.

He is so inconsiderate it was flooding literally and he didnt cancel class no one showed up to his class. It just love to here his self talk he is so annoying i cant stand him hes to personal he open up about how he had 3 divorces no wonder hes so lonely.. he will keep you the whole 3 hours dont think about leaving he want let you. I took the class on Saturday at Trinity, it was long and no room to skip class. Ultimately he dropped me even though I advised him that I would miss the days weeks beforehand. I graduated HS more than 20 yrs ago, so I wasn't treated like a child, but I did notice some of that, but mainly because the kids were VERY immature. I still don't recommend

This teachers method of teaching is very strange. He assumes everyone is incompetent and uninterested. He needs to figure out how to teach art history and not art mystery.

Very condescending and unclear with grading guidelines. I find art, and art history very interesting but he made it very daunting and uninteresting. He seemed annoyed almost when students asked questions. I took this class a while ago, so hopefully he's changed.

I took this in a combined section with another professor. They traded off lecture days. Both made an interesting subject UNinteresting. Rawlinson seemed arrogant, unhelpful and as if he was dealing with children. He was pretty annoying.

Easy A. Mr. Rawlinson just wants to make sure you are learning history. Don't disrespect the class or he will call you out but he is just doing his job !! I think he was a great teacher. Just pay attention and you will pass, easy : )

I took this class on Saturday, so the class itself was very long. This could make for a bias opinion but I found the class extremely boring! We would spend hours drawing paper bags and sticks. He also required many costly materials that were never used. This class accomplished little compared to other drawing classes. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!

He is not as bad as others may feel. Yes, he does like you to pay attention and participate, and he does not allow cell phones, but he is passionate about art and knows what he's teaching you. It can be an easy class if you just pay attention and have an open mind about art. I thought it was really interesting and I learned alot.

The class he teaches is very boring, also he is very rude and full of himself. Please try to avoid this guy. About 10 different people in my class alone had various complaints and issues concerning his antics that had to be addressed to the dean.

If you arent obsessed over art in any way watch out because he will take it out on you. But more importantly rather than teaching he is more concerned with cell phones, talking, using the restroom, people not paying attention and don't even think about leaving early because he will try to stop you in the process. This class is more like jr high.
