Dr. Kubek is relatively easy in grading. I just find her classes to be really boring and extra. Her classes have a decent amount of work. There might be an easier professor with less work out there, but Kubek is solid.

Professor Kubek seems to have gotten a better structer in her class compared to the other reviews posted. Shes a pretty fair grader, not too tough and knows her material quite well. I'd recommend her!

I don't recommend walking into her class and planning on a lot of structure. At first this really frustrated me, because I had so many other classes and wanted to plan ahead. You get used to her laid-black attitude and then enjoy her class even more. There's no way that you can get a bad grade in her class unless you don't try.

She sometimes talks in a way for the purpose of being pretentious that ends up losing meaning.Nice, but she doesn't act enthusiastic so many of the kids can be seen falling asleep in class. can't imagine this teacher in a high school or something. nothing is planned,all impromptu

At times she can be hard to get in touch with, but she is such a brilliant, funny and genuine teacher that the positives completely outweigh my one complaint. Dr Kubek is engaging and loves helping students to succeed and find their voice.

I took The Baptism of Europe in the Summer '03. Literature is not my strength but she really did a great job with the class. Her readings and papers were interesting (although hard work). She'll motivate you and help in any way possible. Stay on top of your assignments and ask questions. Think things through and develop your thoughts. No plagarism!

She may let you do rewrites for the first paper or two, but she takes so long to grade anything, that you'll never see any of your papers after that. The delay in grading, and lack of her returning emails, and phone calls, make her annoying!

Makes Shakespeare come alive. Funny, quirky, very smart. Terrific at making the class come alive and involving everyone, including readings and presentations. The one drawback is that she often doesn't have nearly enough time to meet w/students.

Well, she's very smart and has a great sense of humor. She's a fair grader and keeps class moving and interactive. One complaint is that she didn't give enough time for the second paper and the take-home final because she was experimenting with schedules.

Very smart woman, the best Literature professor that can be asked for. Easygoing and funny. Very interactive class, lot of reading but papers are not too tough. Many chances to improve the grade, including paper rewrites.

good teacher. very liberal. if you are a repub, it would be best not to mention this in her class. overall, not too bad of a grader, 3 papers and you get to redo all of them; she does bust lots of people for plagiarism so watch out for that
