Comment:

I took Dr. Mika last fall for psych of women. It was my fav class at Loyola and shes one of the best people Ive ever met. She cares so much about every student and went out of her way to create opportunities for us. I got an internship bc of a guest speaker she invited to class. She changed my life. Plus, only class i ever got a 100% on an exam!

Prof. Mika is a nice teacher. However, she is a very tough grader. You have to work very hard to get a good grade. 1 paper, 1 presentation, 4 discussion forums, and final. Final was take home which is a +. But you have to do assignments perfectly to get points. Use rubric while doing them. Social psych is easy and interesting, but she makes it hard

Dr. Mika is an okay professor. You think the class is going to be easy, but it is very hard to get a good grade on her tests (there are only two) so it is not an easy A/B. She did give us all an extra credit point at the end, though. She's really nice, but I don't like her style and criteria.

I loved Dr. Mika. She's so approachable and caring towards students. She really wants you to understand material and not memorize it, so tests are open book and open note. I hope to take her again!

I loved having Dr. Mika for this class. She's clearly passionate about issues such as rape, family planning, and birth control. Very approachable and easy to talk to. Would highly recommend and hope to take her again in the future.

Comment:

Mika is obviously passionate about feminism and women's studies. Her lectures are straight out of her mind, no powerpoints. She provides articles and lecture outlines to take notes from, and study guides for the midterm and the final (the only two tests). We watched two movies and multiple videos. Great course.

Dr. Mika is clearly super passionate about this topic. The class is fairly easy because the points are pretty straight forward. There are only 2 exams: midterm and final and then one assignment (either a research paper or group project. you choose). She shows interesting movies and is really funny! I enjoyed her class a lot! Take her!!

Dr. Mika is amazing!2-12 hour class. If you ask for help, she's there for you & will explain anything you don't understand & is very willing to meet. Her lectures sometimes rambled, but the topics are interesting so it's okay! One midterm & you get to choose between a 45 min presentation or a 15 page paper for the final (you get to pick the topic.

She is an awesome sweet lady. You choose between a 10-15 page research paper or a 45 minute group presentation both are on the topic of your choice. The lectures are straight forward and very interesting. Highly recommended!

Phenomenal. I enjoy the fact that she's a practicing psychologist who just teaches on the side. Human Sexuality itself is such an interesting topic and she took the class above and beyond my expectations. Very insightful and guides discussions well. Big research paper is super easy, and other hmwk is passfail. Study for the midterm and you're set.

Class was easy for the level it is. 1 midterm, 1 long paper, 1 final. both tests are multiple choice. Don't buy the books I never used them and I did well in the class. She tells you everything to know. I wish she used powerpoints though bc mostly she just talks the entire time. She had a lot of experience which is cool to hear about.

She was so interesting and clearly passionate about the subject. We had a lot of guest lectures and it was a very fun class. Not a lot of work or reading. As long as you pay a bit of attention in class, you'll be fine. She gives handouts with notes and study guides for both multiple choice tests.

Extremely intelligent and passionate professor, one of the best I've had at Loyola so far. She cares about what she's teaching and makes her best effort to help students understand the curriculm. Outside of that, she has a lot of experience outside the classroom which makes her more relatable and well versed. I absolutely recommend her!

Easy A if you go to class. She is very nice and helpful, the material is easy to grasp, and the topics discussed are interesting for the most part. The midterm and final are both multiple choice. There is a project, you can do a group presentation or a paper. The topic is your choice and it is easy to do well on both. Highly recommend this class.
