If you want a easy elective dont take this guy. Im taking introduction to psychology and he will not give any help at all. Honestly worst teacher at Troy for me so far. His standards for grading are ridicules. Hes more of a manager than a teacher. Definitely gives that I dont really care vibe.

Get ready to read your textbook! Even though you have to complete a worksheet for every class, the worksheets are what you will be tested on. There are no surprises. What is on the syllabus is exactly what the class will be like. 10/10 would take again!

Comment:

Taking Evo Psych, and would 10/10 recommend. Lectures are short but very thorough, and there is class discussion, so the material is interesting and easy to retain. There is hm/wk required for every class but also doubles as a study guide. He grades tough on tests, but provides good feedback, and tests are easy if you did the hm/wk. Great teacher.

Comment:

He does require a worksheet for homework every class, but it's easy and it's the study guide so it's not bad. Those worksheets are why I made such a good grade. He has short tests, but the way he talks in class, you will know what's going to be on them. He gives great lectures and is there to help. If a lot of people do bad on something he helps.

Took Advanced General Psych. No book. No review. Miss a day, better be happy with 80. Inconsistent with grading. Does not offer clear answers to questions. Refuses to offer extra credit for students concerned with their grade. Some students have him foe other classes, too, and say he acts like he doesn't care about AGP as much as their other class

Great teacher. It's not incredibly easy but he makes everything clear and as simple as possible. His review day before the test is a lifesaver. Highly recommend.

Hammonds is a really good teacher. The textbook made no sense, and his notes were a life saver. Tests were pretty easy, and assignments were simple. I have him for basic stats.

Dr. Hammonds I found when teaching Evolutionary Psychology is disorganized, unsure, and when grading tests is inconsistent. I come to class prepared, well read, participated in discussions, and on my tests repeatedly made a 68 because I used synonyms. Or he failed to word a question to meet his intent and failed me for addressing the wording.

I got a D on my first test, but then I started going to class and reading all the chapters. I started getting A's and B's and he gave me an A in his class when I deserved a B. His tests come directly from his notes. Study the examples he gives you in class because those are always on the tests. EASY CLASS!!!!

dont take this class if ur intrests include failing. I think he is smart but he seems to think u should already know how to do this stuff. He can not teach, therefore he uses a "method" called inte-teaching which SUCKS!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN!!

First class I ever failed. I took him for statistics. His teaching is a bit weird. He gives the notes for the NEXT class meet. Textbook a MUST. Miss a class and you're lost. Tends to be a little jittery and seem like he's in a rush. Nice guy but not such a good teacher in my opinion (at least not stats).

He is nice teacher! i took two of his classes; general psy,basic statistics. kinda easy class but too fast to talk and teach sometime hurry.. lol i feel nervous but i love it cuz i can concentrate on class more. he teach statistic class independently. it was helpful to learn. if someone didnt study,better not to come to class. whatever, he is good!

I've taken 3 of his classes (Stats, Experimental Psych and Behavioral Analysis) and I'm gonna take another. He does a great job of explaining everything. He doesn't take roll. Personally, I love his teaching style - learning independently. some people can't handle it, but I love it.

he's a super-easy teacher. His tests are NOT hard; he doesn't take attendance so you could miss every class and just study the book and STILL ace his tests. THATS how easy he is. And he's very clear about the material he covers-he breaks it down wonderfully

Dr. Hammonds is very organized. He does a good job explaining the material and tries to make sure that his students understand the material. I love the way he teaches and as long as you study your notes and read the chapters you will make a good grade.
