This is by far the hardest professor! But everything you learn in his class is really useful. He apply it to the real world. No $80+ text book, just a small reading book.

Unorganized, but experienced professor Projects are fun, but require some work Exams are too long and curved heavily Attend to the lectures before the exams, he basically reveals the exam questions

He gives many handouts. The class is very disorganized. Not sure his material is even accurate. He has experience in the field but I do not think he should be teaching.

Professor Jones is an incredibly smart experienced business man who is passionate about what he teaches. The problem is that the is really unorganized, you will end up with tonns of handouts without a clear structure. 1 midterm, 1 final, 1 valuation project Go to the class before the exams, he will tells you parts of the exams questions

The midterm and final are difficult because there is so much content in them, but there are no surprises. The handouts get pretty intense. Heavily curved.

Took 179B with this class and highly not recommended. If you took Campsey this guy is harder than him. 172B had a final of 100 multiple choice questions that was 50 pages long. 179B final had 12 questions that was 20 pages long. He curves really heavily, but projects are a lot of work as well. Also prepare for the mountain of handouts he gives.

1 Exam, 1 Final, and a company valuation project, that's it. Tests are short answer. Prepare to be dazed and confused. His class is pure lecture, all of which are boring and unorganized. You won't learn anything. Just use the load of paper that he hands out to wipe your tears when you fail his class. you are warned.

Terrible teacher; lots of handwritten handouts; no textbooks; 2 projects,2 exams. I wish I could learn about portfolio management. Don't take him unless you absolutely have to. Very unorganized; late with project information. Check CourseHero for sample tests! Curves BIG! Average test score is 55! But you will end up with a C at a minimum.

Great Professor! He is so accomplished in the field of finance! Very helpful and connects class concepts to the real world. Midterm (20%), valuation project (40%) and final (40%). Gives a lot of handouts to study from. I learned a lot in this class and the group project helps in learning. Was fun too! I would definitely take Professor Jones again!

He's awesome, helpful, easy approach. He treats student as college student, not high school. If you're ready to learn take it, read handouts, don't understand ask, all real life stuffs. might overwhelming. sometimes lecture repeat but helpful. midterm and final takehome study, 1 group project. Enjoy learning without pressure.

This class is imperative if you want to truly understand investment. You must attend class every day and pay close attention to the lectures to do well. There is no text to reference, and the way he writes his midterms there really isn't any easy to study. I guarantee it will be the most valuable class you take in finance.

Prof Jones truly understands finance and can bridge connections between concepts and real world experience, but his lack of organization is a disaster. Many times you wont know what to study No powerpoints, no homework, no textbook material, no lectures notes;listen hard and try to follow along on his handouts and pray for the best on the midterms.

Best teacher I ever had in finance. He professes unto his students his years worth of finance industry knowledge from Wall Street to his current role at some investment company. If you're serious about finance whether for professional or personal uses, this teacher and this class is a must take. Handouts might be confusing but very helpful.

Professor Jones is good professor in teaching, but bad on exams. but overall this class is okay, and i got a high B, even though i got an average grade on mid-Semester-Exam..(average is failing, 28/54). his exams are tough, but he will curve at the end. enjoyable class and learn a lot, especially the investment policy project is helpful.

ok, just done his final today... the final was like over 90 questions for 2hrs 30 min. i bet the average of this final is going to be low. Professor Jones's exams are hard. but i think i learn a lot about portfolio. content just too much and all in handouts make it difficult to study with. But have 30% on projects for make up the grade. fun class!

Prof. Jones is a good professor, a "walking library" like what others previously said about him. Too many hand outs, made it hard to be "organized." Contents of the class 5/5. Teaching style 2/5. 1 midterm, 2 projects, 1 final. One of the toughest class in CoB.

Professor Jones is good professor in teaching portfolio management. i know a lot from him, he tries to keep simple on the concepts. NO textbook required. However, as many other students mention, his exams are hard and require a big curve on most people grade. Average of the exam are like 55%. But his projects are easy to make up some grades

You really need to have a good finance background or you're going to get lost. He gives out a ton of handouts, but only goes through 1 or 2 pages in each. Projects are easy but the midterms are impossible. Hes a nice guy, but he needs to work on his teaching skills. This class felt like an MBA class.....

Comment:
Lectures and tests are very ambiguous. Honestly, this is the type of class which requires a solid understanding of the material beforehand (172A). Projects aren't that bad, as mentioned previously, but his exams are ridiculous. Book isn't necessary and there's a substantial curve at the end.
