This was quite literally the most boring class I have ever experienced in my lifetime. Not only was he extremely boring, but he didn't have any powerpoints, no notes, nothing. So I never knew what to study for the quizzes and tests because all he did was ramble. All the tests had nothing to do with what he rambled about in class either.

Comment:

Fred has done a pretty good job at keeping this class interesting for the most part. Yes, it is kinda slow, it's GEO 100! But he uses a fair amount of voice inflection, funny jokes, and tries to tell funny and relevant stories. If you stay awake and actually listen in class, you could probably get by without the textbook (attempt at your own risk).

Most boring class I have ever had the displeasure of sitting through. I have never fallen asleep in class, and I seriously struggled in this one. Class is only out of 240 points. Very strict on eating/texting/attendance. I would definitely pick a different professor.

If you are a foreign with a weak English in this course, you are dead. Very difficult to understand. His jokes are worried. Almost all the lecture is stories about his son. MC test, very hard. Pay attention to the study guide but look for extra info in quizlet or bluestudy, read the book, and each graph. Look for videos on you tube for your written

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! He is the most unorganized boring professor I've ever had! There were days I would stay up late studying for his quizzes and we would get to class and he would tell us he forgot about it! Not to mention his lectures are so boring it's hard to stay awake, no cell phones or you get kicked out, AND HE NEVERRRR POSTS GRADES!!!!

Cool guy with lots of stories and experiences. I had high expectations going into the class and was somewhat disappointed. Lectures can be boring, but lets out early half the time. Put a lot of effort into your papers, he expects a lot on them (even if he seems lax!). Study guides usually have test questions on them.

Yes geography is hard, but Fred is so helpful, all you have to do is ask h for help and he will gladly. If you study the study guides the you will pass the class with flying colors. Forwarned though, don't use your phone or sleep in class!

Funny, insightful, helpful, quirky, and truly well-informed. Apply yourself in his classes and read the text on your own time, even if he doesn't reference it in lectures outright. Be sure to really listen to him--he is a wealth of knowledge and is truly invested in what he teaches. Plus--he loves to hug old buildings! Fantastic.

DO NOT USE YOUR CELL PHONE IN CLASS! He's not very good at explaining things. He talks mostly about things that aren't on the tests. He just shows pictures most of the class. Most of my class had trouble following him as well. I would not recommend him especially if you don't care about geography in the first place.

He seems to like picking on certain students. He definitely has favorites. Don't use your cell phone or he will make you leave the class. Do not eat anything in there either. The class isn't too easy and the lectures aren't very exciting.

I know that a lot of people did not like him but do not let that scare you from his class. He is somewhat hard to follow but the class its self is not very hard. As long as you pay attention you will be fine. He is a really nice guy and loves to talk. I would take him again!

He's a nice enough guy, but even as a serious student he's very difficult to follow. The amount of material he covers each week is insane and you are expected to retain it all, never know what part of it he'll test on.

His teaching style must have changed, because his tests are HARD. He lectures about nothing and when it's time for tests, it's a guessing game. The map quizzes are easy, but the multiple choice questions are NOT. He's very boring and don't fall asleep in class. Aviod him at ALL COST.
