This class was an easy A but I was bored out of my mind. I feel like I learned very little in this class even though I was very excited to take it. I thought that all of the quizzes and exams were easy if you learn how to study. That said, the questions are random.

Gail does not seem to be a bad teacher, but the subject matter for this class is dull and in need of modernizing. The textbook used is a 2002 revision of a book published in the early 90's. The final is hard. I still got an A in the class but I got barely over 40% on the final. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT.

Comment:
Gail is a decent guy, but this is the bottom of the barrel of psychology - the most boring subject you can possibly imagine. The class doesn't do a good job of stimulating any sort of interest. The quizzes each week are difficult, but if you do decent on them and do the extra credit every week, you should be fine (if you can stomach the material).

Professor seemed like a nice guy. I would recommend him as a professor. The class itself is ridiculous. Lectures are neither required nor helpful. Everything is off the book and the weekly tests are very difficult. The questions asked are incredibly specific and are irrelevant to the topic 50% of the time. Very possible to get an A though

This class is more about how fast you can flip through your textbook than how much knowledge you retained from reading. The quizzes are difficult and the time limit makes what could be an opportunity to learn stressful. Don't listen to the lectures, do the quizzes with a partner, do the extra credit, don't go to the weekly lecture in person.

Do not take this class. It's incredibly boring and the quizzes are all on completely irrelevant details. It's absolutely ridiculous.

You don't need to listen to the lectures online to pass the class. You just need to be able to stay awake long enough to read the book. The material is VERY dry and not applicable to modern psychology. All of the quizzes are ridiculous and don't test your actual knowledge. Final = impossible. Do extra credit!

Lectures were pretty dry, boring, as was the material. The quizzes were pretty hard, but a great way to review for exams, as the questions changed each time you took them and you could take them as many times as you wanted. High curve, probably the best online class I've taken, because I didn't feel I was teaching myself everything, I was learning.

I took this class online. The lectures are really dry and not super interesting. The book material and the lectures don't completely overlap, so don't rely on just one. Do the extra credit practice quizzes with each unit and get up to 57 points! Many questions are the same as the exam ones. Easy A if yo do the extra credit.

Gail himself is a great guy, super nice and friendly, loves cracking jokes (that are usually actually funny) and is very lenient with grading. The material is extremely dry and dull and was not what I was expecting. It is an easy A though because there are TONS of extra credit points and an A is 85%. If you want an A, take the class.

Smart guy, knows his stuff and explains it clearly. Lectures and textbook are both fairly dry, and the quizzes are way too nitpicky, but overall it was a good class and I learned a lot.

Brilliant professor but the material is unbelievably boring. Just do well on the entirely on-line tests/quizzes and you'll get an easy A.

Very dry material. :( I thought the class would be about contemporary, applicable learning theories, but it's more about theory history. The prof. was likable and responded to emails quickly, but his lectures were painfully boring. It's a relatively easy class, but if you're looking for engaging, applicable material I'd look elsewhere.

Gail is the best professor I've ever had. What he teaches is his life, if you're not interested in what he has to offer I can see how you would find him "boring". Every time I've emailed him he has replied extensively and has taken a LOT of time outside of class to answer any questions. If you have any interest in behaviorism, he's the man to as

Took online. Not sure who or how anyone could think this guy as interesting!! Wanted to toss my computer out window while listening to awful lectures on multiple occasions. You can however get an A if you're smart about HOW you study. Also, there's lots of extra credit so can significantly boost your grade. Just really tough to get through! BORING!

Very dry professor and material. The methods of evaluation did not test whether we knew the material, but whether or not we could skim the book fast enough for answers. The crazy old woman in the front of the room was the best part of the class.

This class was not well organized. In-class lectures, online lectures, 2-3 tests each week, group work, and the curve is lowered to 55% for a C..

I took online Psy3011. He posts online lectures (audio w/powerpoint) weekly that you have to listen to. He's an interesting speaker and knows how to change his tone and speed to make sure you get what you need to get. The material isn't too awfully difficult, but its a new vocabulary that takes some getting used to.
