Comment:

He isnt the worst teacher but isnt the best. He is powerpoint lecture heavy, but he does post them eventually. Although his notes are unorganized. He goes to fast so i recommend using a computer to take notes. The midterm is online, but the final is in class. There is a group project which will be on the final. Two papers.

Comment:

Dr. White is by far by favorite at ODU. Fun lectures with good class involvement. Gives two pop quizzes, two announced, drops two lowest. Don't miss lectures. He often will quiz on things discussed in class.

Comment:

I've heard so many horror stories from other capstone classes and White's class felt like a breeze. He clearly tells you what he's looking for and grades fair. The only negative is that every few classes we had nothing to do so we just sat in class doing nothing. Thought this would be my hardest class this semester and it was actually my easiest.

Comment:

I highly recommend taking him for Animals and Capstone. He is very passionate about the material and all of the papers for Animals are about your own philosophy and he really appreciates everyone's opinion. As far as capstone; he's there to help when you need him but he gives you free reign to do the project as you please! 10/10 recommend!

I've taken Dr. White twice and he's absolutely one of my favorite professors I've taken in my 4 years at ODU. He's so funny and makes class assignments easy to understand. He's the cutest little old man and so sweet. He'll joke with you and he made our senior capstone class so much easier than it should've been. 10/10 would recommend taking him!

I took him for Capstone and Animals in Society. This dude is hilarious and always a good time. Makes learning a lot more fun, and makes Capstone as enjoyable as possible.

Comment:

Capstone is a research "Group" project course. On the first day of class you go over the syllabus, than on the second day of class he puts everyone into groups of five to six people. Than from there every class you sit with your group and do your research project. Overall White is THE BEST TEACHER EVER!!! Take him for capstone research :)

He is just too all over the place. He is nice and funny but that is about it. He gives little direction when it comes to the capstone research project. I would take him for other classes.. just not capstone.

Comment:

Not a lot of assignments. Tests were essay, no multiple choice. He uses power points and videos. His teaching is terrible. He tends to talk about irrelevant things and get off topic. I wouldn't recommend him but he's one of the only professors that teaches deviant behavior. :/

Comment:

Grades consists of a Lit Review, survey questions, graphs, & presentation. Hardest part is creating graphs in spss. He is very unhelpful & gives vague instructions. When showing how to do something, He just clicks on stuff without actually giving steps. Asking questions is pointless. Seems like the class has to teach ourselves how to do things.

Very cool, chill, and sarcastic guy. No tests, lectures, or textbook required. Your grade in this class more likely depends on the group you are in versus the professor teaching the class.

He makes capstone fun! Gives guidance but let's you make your own decisions regarding parts of the project. Very funny and personable. Helps you when you need it. I would recommend him to anyone!

White is a good guy, but he is easy to jump to conclusions, especially when he believes that what happens on the internet is always right, everything you see is always the truth, never reads the fine print. He's hilarious and he is there for you as a professor, but he can be demanding and annoying sometimes.

I have taken Dr. White numerous times. He is the absolute BEST professor. I am in his capstone class now, and it was a class I was dreading. He made it fun and I love it now. His jokes and sense of humor are hysterical and I wish I could take him for all my classes!!!!

This guy is THE MAN!!! He cracks the cheeziest jokes every 2 seconds and I love it. He is willing to help you with any problems and really know what he's talking about. What I liked most about him is that he forms a personal connection with each of his students. He really cares about YOU and I think that is rare in college professors.
