great guy! really cares about students both personally and academically. tough class though. lots of information in a short amount of time. be prepared to read a ton. tests are quite difficult, start studying early. if you're not a great test taker make sure you write a good final paper because its the only other thing you're graded on.

He is my favorite professor! His class is tough, but as long as you put in effort and do the work youll be fine. He has a great sense of humor, and is a genuinely good human being.

The History of Israel 202: Do you want to secure a comprehensive foundation to understanding the OT in your academic and spiritual formation? Without question, the best OT class I had at Asbury (1983). I still use his Outline of OT History ( 2 pages) to this day. Primary Text, John Bright: The History of Israel, a standard in OT Studies.

Love Miller, he really cares about the students. There's just soo much information that the tests are ridiculously hard, and basically the only things you're graded for.

He's passionate about students and teaching. Great guy. When my friend attempted suicide before finals, he spent time talking with me about it and let me take my final when I "was ready". He's a remarkable man.

Great prof, very interesting! He may be a bit monotone, but he sheds light on Biblical truths. Uses archaeological finds in lectures to connect to lessons. A bit of a feminist, apologizes to women about how men have treated them throughout history. Apart from that, great guy, I learned a lot from his class, even though it was just a gen ed!

Dr. Miller is my adviser. He's a great guy, but his theology is weird and sometimes he just doesn't make sense. However, he is intelligent, and loves his job.

Took Old Testament last semester with him. He is a little monotone and tough to follow at times, but it's hard to miss his passion for helping students understand the OT much further. I wasn't expecting this class to be interesting, but found that there is alot more to all the stories we learned growing up in Sunday School!

Miller is without doubt the coolest professor at asbury. Great speaker. Prints out notes. Trusts that you have read the material without quizs. I'd take the class again.

Really interesting guy. Has views that a lot of students will disagree with, but he doesn't press them on you. He prints off the notes for you then basically just reads them to you - there's not much to pay attention for. Tests are a bit hard for a 100 level course, but if you study the notes well, you'll be fine. I'd take him again.

Kudos to Dr. Miller for addressing gender issues at Asbury despite all the opposition. One of my favorite male feminists, advocating the empowerment of women both in professional and church settings.
