Comment:
Norberg gives out a ton of assignments and is a very hard grader on them. I went to his office hours a few times and he was not there, which was quite frustrating. I would spend hours reading the assigned homework, then writing an essay on it of good quality and would still receive a grade on the paper that was insulting. Nice guy, but tough grader

Hands down one of the best professors/people at SJU. He goes above and beyond to help every student, and even remembers you 3 years after you took his class. One of the nicest and most sincere people at SJU. Take him, you'll love him. Oh, and if you need help getting an override or adviser questions in general, he's your guy.

For someone who hates english classes Dr. Norberg makes class very fun. Nightly readings are very short and straightforward and class is simply talking about the readings. He gives students up to three chances to score higher grades on papers. By far the best teacher I've ever had at SJU.

Easily the best English professor I have ever had. He was extremely helpful in class with explaining the texts we were covering, but I found that I benefited the most from his class during his office hours. He went through every sentence with me if I asked, or just did an overview. I would definitely take him again.

Had him for the World of Fiction class Freshmen year. Amazing professor & amazing mentor. The reading was always interesting as were the writing assignments. Class is writing intensive but many writings are narrative style. Dr. Norberg is the best professor I've had at SJU. He is fascinating, passionate and cares a lot about student success.

Dr. Norberg is amazing. Truly cares about students and wants you to become a better writer and reader. Pretty lenient with deadlines of papers, he just wants your best work. Alot of work, but you'll do well if you do the work. You will not regret taking his class. He's always willing to talk about anything and everything.

If you want to become a better writer and develop your ability to analyse a text critically, take a class with this man. But do attend class, and be prepared/ do the reading. He is incredibly knowledgeable, always happy to discuss an assignment and gives honest advice: you just have to ask for it. Terrific professor, truly cares for his students.

I love Dr. Norberg. He is an extremely honest, straightforward person, aside from being the smartest person I know. He is by far the most intelligent English professor at St. Joe's (as of 2007), he has an intimate understanding of literature and explains it in a very relevant way. By far the best teacher I've ever had in any subject, an absolutemus

Alot of reading and writing; it was writing intensive. Made me a better writer. Laugh can get annoying but thats him. Be prepared to work, he tells you he will fail you to intimidate you. READ THE MATERIAL, likes to give pop quizzes. Ask for help and get to know him, can save your grade if you need it
