Professor Moran is just hands down among the absolute greatest professor's I have ever taken. He keeps the class fun and engaged and really has such a way in teaching the class that it just draws you in and makes you look at things in such a different light than you would have otherwise on your own. You always walk away feeling all the wiser.

i would never take a class with this professor again. Grades very harshly on the papers, and does not give enough feedback for us to understand what we did wrong. Avoid, this was harder than human physiology.

Such a great professor! One of the best that I have ever taken! He is super caring, funny, and helpful. Take him, you won't regret it.

Moran is the best professor I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his students. Grade is based on 3 out of class papers covering lecture and text. The reading can be extensive, but his lectures outline everything you need for the essays. Write down EVERYTHING he says and you will barley have to read. Do not text in his class he will call you out

Hands down my favorite professor ever. Such a sweet, caring man who thinks of his students like his grandkids. Extremely knowledgeable and funny. Does tend to assign a lot of dense reading and 4 papers, but is flexible as long as you're trying. Loves to show movies too! I would go out of my way to take more classes with him.

Not an easy class however highly driven by essay. Four essays which most student average around B on their first and sometimes imporove. I felt that disscussion were weak with peers but teacher helps and drives it most of time. Feedback was weak on papers where it depends on grade. Really need to work hard. Rate 2/5

Nice guy, however not an easy A. Must work and read and often times unclear and does limit class discussion. Not great for feedback on papers and doesn't explain how to improve on papers. Assumes that his notes will help you instead limits you to his style. Grades tough on papers.

If you come to class, listen to lectures, and take good notes you do not even have to read. I got an A in the class without actually reading anything on my own, I just listened to him and what he wanted in the paper.

Honestly the best professor I have ever had. He genuinely cares about his students' education and general well-being to a degree that I have never seen in a college professor. He is a fair grader and encourages students to work with him to improve their writing skills and grades. If you have the opportunity, take one of his classes!

Your grade & the class is based around four essays and participation. I got an A in the class but got A-s on most of my essays. I participated A LOT in the class and Moran loved me and saw that I improved which I believe resulted in my A. He's a great & funny prof who really cares about his students. Make sure to read the books. PS he buys you food

Made an 8 a.m. class worth getting up for, which is the highest praise I've ever given a professor on this site. He worked with me when personal issues came up and let me turn in an essay late, and even gave me feedback as I wrote it. A few pop quizzes, but if you actually read the books and go to class, you'll be fine. An all-around awesome prof!

Such interesting lectures. He's a very funny man and wants you to learn by making history fun. He wants you to be able to take stuff away from his class. Gives pop quizzes (sometimes). No exams, just 3 papers, and a few quizzes (used to help your grade). He will proof rough drafts of your paper so you can get a good grade. GREAT TEACHER!!!

First off he's the best Professor in the Honors Program. Professor Moran knows what he's talking about during lecture, plus he never puts down or speaks ill of any student (tremendous respect to the guy for that). Class is based on 4 papers. If you go to class and take good notes you will be fine. I ended up with an A in the class.

Professor Moran was the best prof I've ever had! He was really kind and helpful. He loves students who truly care about their grades. He's a pretty easy grader, and he essentially writes the papers for you. I hated History before I had him as my prof, now I like it!
