Comment:

I took Dr. Sutton back in 2004 for ECE 280. I studied so hard, I beat the crap out of myself only to keep up with his monstrous sized homeworks. And despite the tough effort I got F. At the same time I was also taking ECE 220 and I got a B+ in it. I think he was already pre-determined to fail me even before the course started for whatever reason.

As far as ECE 491 is concerned this class was pretty easy and Sutton was a fine instructor for it. I would strongly recommend doing the extra credit assignment if you plan on getting an A in the course.

Currently taking 280. GREAT PROFESSOR! Knows the material EXTREMELY well. Don't miss class he goes over so much material. However, his tests are INSANE! TONS of HW! Averages are always really low, but grades on a curve. If you pass it means you know the material EXTREMELY well aswell. It will serve you well in 333 and the rest of your career.

I'm a transfer student and only took ECE491 from Dr. Sutton. He was helpful, in and out of the class. He is however not easy to get along with; expects high.

The person that said he is the best professor in the ECE department likely needs to get their brain inspected. There are much better professors (such as Berry, Paris, etc). This man is not indifferent to the success of his students. He WANTS them to FAIL. Belittles students whenever help is requested and will laugh in your face. Demotivating.

The worst teacher ever.very rude old man.whatever he teaches does not come up in the test. very arrogant and rude to students.you have to take him for two or more classes. He is old enough to stop teaching and stay at home..

He's one of the best professors in GMU for Electrical Eng. His lectures are the best, but his exams are the toughest. If you're a student who hates working hard, don't take him. However, if you want to learn the basics of electronic circuits, you better have him because I learned a lot from this man, and I awe him a lot.

Seriously, Dr. Sutton is only hated by students who are slackers! If you want to learn then don't be afraid to take his class. Passing 280 was hard but I feel very empowered by the experience.

Sutton requires a lot of work, but he is an EXCELLENT lecturer. He also doesn't put up with disrespect or slackers, and so that is why a lot of people complain about him. If you do your homework, you will learn way more from his class than any other prof. But only take his class if you really want to learn the material and are willing to WORK.
