His class is VERY hard. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! His lectures are very boring and he goes off topic, A LOT. There's 2 tests (and a final) which are 50 questions and it's extremely hard. Most students fail the tests and only a few people actually pass them. He hardly does any sort of review before tests. He's not the best professor for economics.

He will keep you the full time EVERY night. Lectures are very long and boring but informative if you can follow material. VERY hard to catch up if you miss class. Your entire grade is compromised of 3 tests, 20 percent HW&quizzes. Very nice guy as a professor decent. All tests curved due to lack of high grades. Take at your own risk.

Here's the deal. Professor Rawlins is not a hard grader it's his test that are hard. The course has 3 tests, 2 midterms 1 final. The test are all multiple choice. You need to study outside of class. You need to participate and focus in class to understand. He has an accent and writes on the board. PUT IN THE WORK AND YOU WILL GET A B+!

Lectures are very difficult to follow. He uses PowerPoint but only adds a Title and leaves the slide blank. When teaching he often goes on tangents that don't relate to the topic and just confuse you. You have to read the textbook or you won't understand anything, you basically have to teach yourself the class. He gives extra credit on tests.

This microeconomics course is pretty difficult if this is your first ever economics class. Rawlins is extremely boring and I never pay attention during ANY lectures. If you start studying at least the day before the exams YOU MUST WATCH ACDC Mr. Clifford videos, he will save your life. As long as you watch the videos and study you will pass.

HE IS THE WORST PROFESSOR FOR ECONOMICS EVER. DO NOT SHOW UP TO CLASS EARLY BECAUSE HE WILL START AND HE DOESNT CARE. THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN POSSIBLY PASS IS IF YOU GET PASSING GRADES ON THE CONNECT HOMEWORK (WHICH YOU SHOULD LOOK UP EVERY ANSWER ONLINE). THE EXAMS ARE DIFFICULT... GIVES EXTRA CREDIT IF YOU SHOW UP TO EVERY CLASS. DONT TAKE HIS CLASS

Do yourself a favor and do not take him. He is very knowledgeable but also very condescending if you ask him a question. Micro is hard enough but taking it with him was a lot harder. I worked really really hard for my grade but it wasn't worth it for the awful experience I had.

He speaks fast and never stops. He reads off some powerpoints, he does worksheets in class but they dont really help you with exams. The homeworks are much harder than the exams.

WORST PROFESSOR AT MSU. GIVES OUT D's LIKE IT'S NOTHING AND COMPLETELY RUINS YOUR GPA AND GETS YOU KICKED OUT OF YOUR MAJOR. DO NOT TAKE HIM. WISH I COULD RATE HIM A 0.

Honestly, he is not the greatest professor ever. Read the FAQ's, he said. They'll "answer" all your questions. Speak loud. He can't hear. Just do yourself a favor, and don't take this course.

he is a very nice man and he knows economics in and out. he has like 30 years of experience but you will need to ask questions. my class barely interacted with him and he expressed his feelings about that on the last day. participate and class will be fun. as for the tests, you get 3 and you are pretty much on your own when it comes to studying.

Rawlins is one of the worst professors at Montclair State University. He is not a good teacher by any means. He is very unclear when teaching the lectures and goes off topic A LOT. His voice is monotoned so it is very difficult to pay attention. The tests are very hard, almost impossible to pass. He rushes students out of his office hours.

He's a very nice guy, knows his stuff very well. If you have no outside knowledge of economics I do not recommend this teacher. However if you put in the work and read the chapters before going into class, you will get a lot out of the class. Pay very close attention to his lectures.

Stuck up professor, sits down the whole class and lectures from his seat, no excitement in his tone. We get it, he is very knowledgable but condescending when asking questions. TOUGH grader.

You must pay close attention in lecture. If not you will fail. The class is not easy but attending every class and taking good notes will pay off. Gives 6 absences but +5% if you make every class. He knows his stuff like the back of his hand, also is lowkey funny. I would take again, if you want to be lazy and expect a good grade this is not for u.

Had him for microeconomics and he made it much more difficult. Very unclear with his lectures and it was very confusing. He goes off topic a lot and backtracks which makes things harder to understand. He'll also often say something and say "oh by the way, I was wrong" the day after he taught it. Also unclear with due dates.

I am a good student and have gotten nothing but A's at MSU... until this course. I found it impossible to follow along, let alone stay awake because his lectures are so boring and completely uninspired. He is a nice enough guy, but I would not recommend taking him unless you already have a strong finance and econ background.
