Comment:

Avoid this fossil. I have never met someone so rude, senile and ridiculous. She gives the physics department a really bad name. I wish James taught lectures instead of her. Wish people like her had their degrees taken away. Horrible.

So 3 questionsexam and 6 for the final. It is VERY important to study on your own using the textbook and recitation. You MUST MUST MUST keep up with lectures and understand the material rather than memorize old exams. As long as you understand the material, you will be fine. I promise!

She doesn't look at her students when she talks, she is predominantly soft spoken so you have to sit up close to hear her. She basically does problems from the book, so if you read the book and go to recitation you should be fine, James is an amazing TA who will help you pass. Her exams are easy she only has 3 questions with 2-3 parts.

Dr. Spruch teaches physics by the book. If you keep up with the reading and do the homework you shouldn't have a problem. If you dont do the reading and dont pay attention during class/ recitation, you deserve what you get.

Horrible teacher. She is soooo boring. All she does is copy examples from the text. You dont even have to go to lecture as long as you go to recitation and the problem sessions James does. I learned nothing from her.

I agree with the last comment. By far one of the worst professors on campus. Exams are only 3 questions, if you mess up on 1 question, then your already down to a 67. Also she barely curves and is a very unfair grader. I heard rollino is more difficult but at least you'll learn something. She also can't teach and you can barely hear her.

WOW, definitely one of the worst professors on campus. She's already a senile old lady, I can't understand how she still has a job. She is a completely unfair grader. Take Rollino, he is harder but at least you have some control over your grade. P.S I am holding every urge to curse this lady off.

I'll stay neutral on my position. In order to do well, READ the book. Although she isn't that good at explaining things, go to class because some stuff she talks about,appear on her tests.Know the theory and be prepared to aswer conceptual questions. She doesn't curve that much. Go to James Reilly's (TA)study sessions, they help a lot!

Ill summarize this first: Ive taken both Rollino and her, Spruch is a lot easier. Where to start. Her tests' math is easy, yet somehow you end up doing badly on them thanks to concept questions which she throws out of no where. Her classes suck, they are so boring, and useless. I took her for Physics as a liberal art. She used a print of an awful textbook which she handed 1 month after classes started. In 1st midterm 50% of class below 50! She is boring, will not fail you but it's an impossible A. Poor teaching skills, unorganized, just avoid her if you can.

she is perhaps the most bitter woman you will ever come across at rutgers. there's just so much hatred inside of her towards her students that you can't even imagine. do yourselves a favor and take rollino. i took spruch my 1st time and rollino my 2nd and im tellin u, rollino is amazing--he actually teaches instead of copying right from the book.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!! she doesn't teach! she goes over the examples in the book that are already solved for you! her first 2 exams are fairly simple but watch out...she tricks you with the final! it's HARD and TRICKY!! she's horrible and evil. she needs to retire.

Don't think this woman is easier than Rollino. She is the most unpleasant, uncaring person in the department. Exams seem easy but are quite tricky. Mess one problem up and minus 20. No partial credit, no sympathy. Don't even think the final is doable because she derives problem from NASA's entrance test on it. Stay away at all costs!

Dr. Spruch is sooooooooooooooo B-O-R-I-N-G!!! I dont bother going to class. When I do I take my pillow, blanket and IPOD and fall ASLEEEEEEP!! Her exams are quite easy but whats the point when she cant teach.
