Comment:
Heavy course material, but extra papers reinforce concepts taught in lecture. Greg is genuinely caring and would make time for you outside of his class. Exams are fair, but going to class and picking up on key concepts is super important. Excellent and interesting professor!

Greg is a great prof for first year. He relates concepts in class to things in the news to help make concepts more relevant and interesting. His tests lean on the physical geology side rather than the environmental content, which is great if you rather the hard rock part of the course. Has a droning voice at times, but interesting things to say!

Seems like a very nice guy although I did not even receive the chance to really meet him on a personal level. His lectures were very boring and it didn't make you want to attend especially at 9:00 in the morning when it was mandatory to attend as 80% of the midterm was stuff said in class and not in the notes. Although the final was very easy.

His lectures were very boring, his notes are unclear, and his tests are ridiculous. and on top of that he Doesn't specify whats going to be on exams. His questions can range from his notes - textbook - to him talking - to a wikipedia search. Avoid at all costs

Greg, is a very kind person. Not the best teacher however. I found that the expectations for a first year Earth Science class was very high. But if you have questions about anything, ask. He mainly talked about the course material, and didn't have very good notes.

Unclear with what he expects in you to learn and class and gave no indication of what would be on the mid-term. His notes are a mess and the lectures put you to sleep.

hard to grasp the concept of what he is trying to teach. Midterm was a total disaster because no one knew what to study. He will also put you to sleep while teaching. over nice guy just needs to jazz up his lectures and get the point across.

Seems like a really smart guy, but over complicates a first year course and doesn't get the material across well. Half the class failed the midterm because no one had any idea of what they needed to study.

Hes a nice person and good in his field of study, but he has no idea how to teach this easc 1002 course. Sometimes I walk out of class thinking what was I supposed to have learned, its hard to pick up and do yourself because you have no idea whats important. On our midterm 54 percent of the class failed, Study hard! learn diagrams and details

Prof knows his stuff. I found that I had to spend a decent amount of time reading the text before class in order to absorb the lecture material. If you fall behind, you are more or less screwed, so keep on top of it!

He's a very nice guy, and his classes are interesting, but he's got horrible handwriting! Watch out for the labs tho - you've got to ask a million questions and write everything down 'cause otherwise you really won't be prepared for the lab final.

People say that he rambles & goes off on tangents in lecture, but I don't think so - it is important stuff! The labs are way too confusing. He won't explain to the whole class, just one on one. Labs aren't graded, so you have no real preparation for the lab final!
