Comment:
Hardest class i've ever taken. This professor gives 40 min lectures you have to listen to a night, that do not clarify anything. He then gives you tests and quizzes, which are impossible to get an A on. On assignments, you think you got an A, but he gives low scores unless you write word for word what he is expecting. Do not take this class!!

After seeing other reviews, I now wish I'd seen them before. I took this online and kept getting deducted points on assignments but I didn't know why. I emailed him for clarity but he told me he felt he's been grading fairly. I didn't say it wasn't fair. I asked what I did wrong. Never felt prepared for exams and no textbook to study from.

Worst online professor I've ever had & I've had a lot. His lectures were long & often pointless. No textbook to study from either. His assignments seemed easy until I would receive my grade. Apparently you have to put exactly what he put to get credit. When I emailed him to ask for homework help, all he said was he felt he graded things correctly.

Ive taken many online classes, this was the worst one. I love history, but when all the assignments, quizes and tests are based on reading 18th century text with zero explanation, its up to you to try and understand and decipher everything.

This professor had such an easy class when I took USU 1300. *All* we had to do was remember what the different amendments to the constitution were and different things (laws, acts, etc) that gave American rights. We also had to read a book about Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge and type up really short answers to questions he asked. Easy A.

I enjoyed Dr. Petersen's 1500 class. It sparked an interest in Economics for me. He does go a little fast over the slides, but provides them online. You can print them off beforehand and take supplemental notes as he goes along. Definitely go to the SIs. He grades on a curve, which is nice. I recommend him to my friends.

He completely flies through the material with hardly any time to digest what he just talked about. Economics is a difficult thing to understand. You must attend class to receive a good grade, though. Go to the SI!!

If you just came from HS and are ready to read all day then this is the class for you.Peterson did respond to emails but the responses were useless. I felt completely on my own with no support. The tests are random with their Q's and Q's are worth many points so if you miss just 2 you fail the test. Grades are based on quizzes and exams.

Professor Petersen was a really nice guy! He did a good job for teaching a relatively boring subject. He had a quiz every other week in his class, and they were fairly difficult. If you go to the SIs, it will make a world of difference... Especially for the final, the final was a beast. If you work hard, you will do well!

His class was extraordinarily boring, but not too difficult. Just be sure to study for the quizzes and midterms because they have many vague, trick questions.

He's a great teacher. Reading your book before lectures will help a lot. There are quizzes every other week that are difficult, but I never got lower than 80%. I almost always got in the A range. He is really funny. You need to be in class because the quizzes only cover what he covered in class.

He is super nice and he really knows the subject matter. However, there are quizzes every other week that are IMPOSSIBLE! I would memorize all of the notes and still get C's or lower on the quizzes. Overall he is an amazing teacher! His tests are just hard. And I rarely used the book.

This teacher was somewhat entertaining in class but very biased on his opinions due to his religious background. The Supplemental Instruction classes are extremely necessary in order to pass the class. The teaching style in class and on quizzes is incredibly different then the wording on tests which is my biggest complaint with this professor.

This was the only early college class I didn't get an A in. Certainly I could have studied harder, but the classes were also EXTREMELY dry and boring, and dragged on forever. All those stereotypes about history being the lamest class came true here. He wasn't challenging any of that.
