Comment:

There is lots of homework to do and a lot of it is what your grade depends on. Also be ready for the vocab quiz because they also mean a lot. You can retake the vocab tests but its so out of the way. There is also lots of reading and online homework. The group discussion was fun but she tries to be very inspirational but in my eyes, it fell short.

Comment:

Professor Newbury is a gem. She's very polite and funny. She has her own method of teaching that not many people are use to. She makes sure that students are having fun while being engaged in class discussions. The books that she uses to teach are also very helpful and interesting. Beware though, she does give vocabulary tests!!!

too much homework. She expects you to do townsendpress, totalreader, Etudes, and vocabulary tests weekly. instructions are always unclear. The only good thing about her class is that she gives the opportunity to pass 2 English courses at the same time, but if you want to do it get ready for extra books, homework, and online assignments.

Prof. Newbury gives out a lot of assignments&half of them are online so be prepared to have internet access. She is a very helpful professor&unlike other professors who make you read boring books she assigns the most interesting books ever that will help you in life. She is organized and a pretty easy grader just stay on top of the assignments!!!

Lots a busy work, but the work is there to help you. She likes open discussions. For her it is simple, just follow the rules, do your homework, and try your best. She is very open to helping students who have been absent but is very big on going to her office hours if you were absent. She wants her students to pass. That's all a good professor is.

Ms.Newbury was a bad teacher she gave us to much work and didn't clarify most of the time what she wanted from us. Her online programs are total bs you basically waste ALOT of time on their don't take her class im telling you you will regret it whe you end up dropping it with the W !!!

She is the best professor I ever met.Clearly explains the lecture gives out a lot of homework assignments and online stuff but other than that, great teacher to have, she even gives out candy a lot of cool activities talk in class and make people talk it will make the class a lot more interesting

Be open to being talkative because she likes that, really try to do your best cause she can see when you're not making an effort. Super chill teacher

She is a GREAT teacher. Her backround is very surprising. Her life stories are intersting. She gives you help when ever you need it& her office is always open( certain times) She's very nice and her class helps you to get ready for eng1A. I took an online speed reading course with her. She's extremely helpful. If you have any questions she will respond very quickly and does all she can to make you understand. If you do the work and make a genuine attempt to do well, you will get a good grade.

For Geology classes, she does not lecture at all. Everything 100 points. I am very disappointed about the way she teaches. No lectures, field trips, notes. Lots of homework. Also, for geology classes, she has a strict grading scale: A > 90, B > 80, C > 70, D > 60. Her esams are all essays and she will also grade you for Grammatical Accuracy.
