If I can give this professor zero stars I would! She is a horrible instructor! She is mean, insulting, abusive, never responds to emails, and she will tell you that you are doing something wrong but won't tell you what it is and will not help you correct it. I do not recommend her at all! Do not take any of her classes!

HORRIBLE online class. Syllabus didn't match the class. Modules didn't match the due assignments. No communication AT ALL, except for a brief comment when you get your graded assignment back. Will not answer questions through chat or private message. Just horrible! No clear guidelines. No clear grading requirements. Worst online class I've ever had

I took the online class. You pretty much have to go look things up on your own because she doesn't provide enough information. I messaged her a few times and no response. She constantly misspells words she is supposed to know. She gave me a 0 in some assignments but doesn't provide help or why are they wrong. She is the worst teacher. Avoid her.

Comment:

She can sing beautifully herself, but she can't teach AT ALL. She is very discouraging. She'll tell you you're doing something wrong but wont tell you how to do it correctly. She skips the fundamentals completely and goes on about her glory years instead of actually teaching. I do not recommend her at all.

She only plays YouTube videos of artists she likes, and expects you to learn everything about them. She rambles about her "singing days" and when she was young. She's very old and forgets what she's lecturing about. Most students left during her class after attendance was taken without her noticing. DONT take her boring long class. She's mean.

I have had previous voice training and she gave me a D! She doesn't remember any of the students names, expects you to magically turn into an opera singer. Gives the wrong students the wrong grades. I had to call 6 times for her to change my grade because she "forgot who I was", yet I attended class daily and it was only 11 students. Beware.

I had to come back and share this about Dame Sweeney. If you have had some training don't show it, this will hinder your grade. She mixes advanced students and beginner students, Class can get boring. She talks too much and can be unfair in grading if she does not like you. She teaches good singing techniques, but she has a stank character.

A wonderful human being. Her love of music and singing is contagious. She has a compassion and patience for less gifted singers and really puts in time and attention with them. I love her!

I had a great time in her class! I took voice with her, just for fun, and she was very helpful. She is also very honest-she will definitely tell you when you do something wrong, but it's not personal. She does enjoy telling lots of stories, most of which are on a tangent, but I always enjoyed hearing them from her.

The instructor really wants her students to do well.The work is hard and you must really apply yourself with daily study if you want to do well.With proper study, things actually start to make scence.A lot of people have problems with her because they don't understand her. If you apply yourself, do the work, be prefessional, you'll dO fine.

This teacher is terrible. She does not return phone calls or emails, she has left an entire classful of online students completely stuck. She thinks that it's funny that she doesn't proofread her own work or update her syllabus in over 3 years. She is horrible, run away fast. Do not take her class, go to SMC instead.

This teacher is amazing! She has more than 50 years of career as a music singer unlike other teachers of this college who only "pretend" to know vocal technique. She will always work with you at any level. She is also very truthful and, therefore, she will only be liked by people who want to become serious singers!

I think she is a good teacher, she does talk enitrely to much, i did learn alot because of my intrest but was bored as H E L L, very hard to stay focused, there was alot more talking from her who knows what but over all we sing every class

I consider this teacher unfit to teach the class for the following reasons: 1) She argues with students in front of the class, 2) She embarrasses students in front of the class, 3) There is more talking than singing, 4) She goes off on tangents, which are line that intersect a curve at only one point..., and 5) She is not nice to her students.

she is good teacher but no fun ;;; really no fun;; everybody were sleeping in the class. u have to attend every class because her tests are all from the lecture, not from the book. 80% of questions on the tests are from her lecture.

Horrible! She cannot sing, so if you want to improve your singing don't take her. She often goes off on strange tangents that have no relevence to the class. However if you show some kind of effort, she will give and A or B. Not recommended.
