At first the syllabus does not tell you exactly how to do the assignments, but it turns out it really isn't that difficult (she does not seem to care about the format of the assignments). She does not reply to emails. I took the class during the winter so we didn't have many assignments, but definitely a lot of reading.

She grades every little thing. When she says, 2 paragraphs 6 sentences each, etc. She means it. One sentence short will cost you a few points. Every assignment is like the final paper but for 10 points less. Even the extra credit is like another paper. if you're going to take child dev 10, pick another professor.

I took her online class and it was amazing. She grades your assignments in less than two days and gives good feedback and suggestions. She also leaves the exams open for a whole week for those with busy schedules, and assignments can be turned in late but points will be deducted.

honestly, I just wouldn't take her, ever again. I loved online classes but she made me dread it. a lot of writing for a little bit of nothing points, I don't get it.

I was delighted by the level on engagement and feedback given by professor Shepard. I took time writing out my final paper and other homework assignments and was happy when she pinpointed certain areas of strengths or where i needed improvement. It will help me in the long run! Thanks!!

Family and Consumer Studies 021 Online was a tough one. All of the homework that is done is from the Modules. The test is the only time you used the book everything else is just reading. Also, don't turn in homework late and the test were 40 questions each worth 1 point. pay attention to your writing assignments. She tells you what she wants to see

I'm so tired of having online instructors with poor communication skills. If you ask questions, expect a condescending, tasteless response. Grades hard. Tests don't reflect info in modules: 40 questions, 1 hour, one try, no review. Assignments: are so excessive. Learned nothing useful except how to better fluff a writing assignment.

It was an online 8 week course. The class itself was easy its just there is A LOT of writing. BUT the good thing about it is that you know EACTLY what she wants because she tell you for example (3 paragraphs 4 sentences each) etc. I did get a B in the class but it wasn't because my work wasn't A material it was because I turned 3 assignments late

What I don't like about shepherd is her communication. I got completely ignored by her when I asked important questions. I don't see why anyone should take an online class with her unless you don't care about your grade and you just want to pass. She doesn't seem to care.

I just finished this online class. Dr Shepherd is very helpful. She assigns a lot of writing because first of all it is an online class, and second of all its only 6 weeks. So yes it seems like a lot of work because of the short time. But I really enjoyed this class and what I learned out of it. It is all worth it in the end. I would take her again
