Comment:

Def one of the best professors I have ever had! He will lecture the entire class but he breaks down all information that way you understand it. I took him during the summer, each class you attended you got an extra credit point toward you next exam!!! He doesn't give reviews, your test are literally based off his note.. so study notes!

Comment:

Dr. Broen is a wealth of knowledge. His classes are very lecture based, but he provides the notes online, all you have to do is print them out. It helped me to follow along and highlight important parts. The tests were all multiple choice, fairly straight forward if you read the notes and paid attention in class. I enjoyed his class.

Study and rewrite the notes that he uploads onto D2L will help with the test. He gives a four point curve on tests. Labs are easy when working in groups.

this class was ok. it was definitely not the easiest class to take. You have to really study the notes in order to pass, also advised to make your own notes from his notes it helped me a lot. The lectures feel so long but very interesting things to learn in this course. I'm just happy its over.

Comment:

This was by far my favorite class so far as a college student. He gives 4 tests throughout the class and there were i believe 8 lab reports. The tests are hard if you do not study, there are multiple right answers, you have to distinguish the "most right" answer. The Lab Reports are easy, you just have to normally write down your observations.

This class isn't too hard if you study and put time into it. The tests come from the notes and there's no surprises. He doesn't really help you one-on-one, so you have to do the class basically on your own unless you have friends in it. Overall it's a good class and if you work hard you'll learn a lot.

This class was extremely difficult. I struggled the entire time. He is not a very interesting teacher either. I received 4 A's and 1 C this term (the C was in this class). I Suggest you take Astronomy ... SUPER easy ! All the tests are online which means you can you your book.. A lot of extra credit opportunities in Astronomy as well!

Nice guy. Has a lot of knowlegde about the subject. You don't need the book, all you need are his notes. Studying hard is the key to an A in this class. His tests are hard, you have to know the MOST RIGHT answer! The labs are simple, easy grades. Just find yourself good lab partners and you will be done in no time. Plus studying with a group helps!

I'm a straight A student and suffered throughout this entire course. Broen takes out his frustrations on student who don't deserve it. Only 10 of us were showing up and TRYING and he told us to drop the class. He makes no effort to help.

Nice guy!You do NOT need the textbook unless you feel like reading over the material for your own sake! His tests are STRICTLY from the notes he provides on D2L, but seriously MEMORIZE the notes and make sure you understand the concepts. Tests are pretty hard but if you really understand the notes you'll do good! You have to study the notes!!!

Good teacher. Had him for Bio 1 and Micro. Dont need to read the book. Study his notes hard core bc they are exactly whats on the test. His notes are very helpful. He is a nice guy and very helpful. Dont be afraid to ask him questions. Awesome teacher. Hard class so you have to study.

Read the study guides he gives you the book will just confuse you. The questions come from the study guides. He is a great teacher and he really gets you used to what university teachers are like. So study, study, and study some more. He gives out like insane curves that really help you out.
