Definitely expects her students to be prepared for class. She is very erudite in her subject areas. Her discussions and lectures assume an intelligent student who is serious about learning and is prepared to research and write on a collegiate level. She is responsive to students who share her love of academic investigation! A great professor.

You have to pay attention. She does encourage participation, but not from unprepared idiots. She knows her stuff, and she expects you to read closely; she's interested in the text, in the words on the page and what they mean. She expects you think about the text and the words and what they mean.

Alienated Hero: I must say she is certainly NOT FOR EVERYBODY. She will lecture for the entire class period, and looks for very little student interaction. She's very oldschool in her approach, and doesn't put up with any nonsense, but she is very passionate and HIGHLY INTELLIGENT. If you're dedicated to English, take a class with her!

She is really hard and not very helpfull either. she expects you to know how to write perfectly before you take her class. she is also a really hard grader and not patient with the students.

STAY AWAY!!!! Why this senile woman is still teaching a course (especially a night class) is beyond me. She rambles on and on and goes LINE BY LINE through the plays we read. I feel like I'm back in 9th grade English. She never leads discussions, just lectures and goes off on random boring tangents that she thinks are amusing to us. Um, no. Horri

She is really unhelpfull and not clear at all about explanations/ HW assignments. She has very little patience and is also a hard grader. I would not reccomend taking a class with this teacher.

I would rather get some flesh eating disease and live in the amazon then take another class with this vile woman. I had no idea what she was talking about in 90% of her lectures bc of the off topic things she would go on. Why this senial woman is still teaching is WAY beyond me.

Her classes are exciting and insightful. No one will be able to give you this unique, and very true perspective on Shakespeare's works like Dr. Grayson. Wake up, show up, and learn something, because you will soon lose the opportunity.

I would rather shoot myself than take another class with her. She just rambles on for hours at a time. You can't take notes because she doesn't actually say anything. I only made it through the class by reading all the cliffnotes on the plays.

She is the most awful teacher I have ever had. She cannot stick to a point, and her metaphors (so "critical to uhmm... Eng--English language") SUCK. I wish she would learn about the subject matter she's teaching... Shakespeare must be rolling in

Very bad teacher! Learned nothing from her. If you want to sleep in her class everyday...go ahead and take it. I used sparknotes for everything and couldnt listen to her ramble on and on. Repeats herself too much.

Best teacher I have ever had-- period. If you have trouble listening to her, the problem is with you and not with her. She goes off on tangents, but they are always interesting. I highly recommend her for anyone serious about English Scholarship.

She just repeats what you already read. According to her there is no underlying meaning in Shakespeare's work. You're better off reading the plays with Cliff than wasting your time listening to her babble and stutter.
