Jenny is a real gem! Classes do feel long most of the time, and I wish that it was tues+thurs. I had a friend that took 207 before me and helped me get my formatting correct, because I felt like things were sometimes unclear and everyone was afraid to ask. If you get the formatting right, complete everything, & dont miss class, 207 is an easy A.

Jen is overall a good professor. However, she is not clear about assignments and what her expectations are for them. She was also often unclear as to what homework we needed to, which created issues. Class usually felt like a waste of time and a lot of the unconventional lesson plans were not effective. I learned both how and how NOT to teach.

Jen is awesome but her classes as a whole are a little unorganized. A bit of time wasted here and there, and I don't feel like I'm as prepared to be a teacher at this point as I am a social worker. Learned lots of valuable things about teens, etc, but teaching, nothing yet. That might be more the college of education's fault.

She started every class by showing YouTube clips from Glee for 10-15 minutes. Lectures contained a lot of theoretical information that served no purpose outside of the classroom. Course materials were expensive and a bore to read. A required class for Sec. Ed. majors, sadly.

The one thing I didn't like for the class was that the textbook was made up of works that weren't her own. It's like a 70$ book. Also, the class focuses a lot on the theoretical aspect of working with kids. I would appreciate it if she had taught in a school at least for a couple years during her life. She is really nice tho.

Jen is a saint come to Earth. She has so much faith and love for her students, and her passion is incomparable. This class, like many classes in EDSC, has a big aspect that people miss: it's easy to "coast" and do the bare minimum, but it's the daily work that will really help you when you get to the field. Her compassion and wit are amazing! <3

Grading Criteria very unclear. Class was 3 hours but all material could've been fit into 30 mins. Very strong personality, cares about students but can come off as harsh. Love her as a human, not so much as a professor. Agree with prev. comment, she's never taught in schools and it shows. More like a psych class than an edu class.

Where do I start with Jen... She is a unique professor in every respect. For three credits, this class was worth it. At the end of the course, there are a lot of projects due-- which is where she over do's it. But, again she's very nice. I'll never understand why you need TA's for EDTE 001.

Jen is an amazing teacher who really cares about her students. She's there to help if you need it. But effort on your part is important. If you tell her what you're having trouble with she will go the extra mile to make sure you can keep up. Do the homework and show up to class and you'll have no problem keeping up. No excessive studying.

Jen Prue is an acquired taste--you either love her or hate her. I happened to love her. She is extremely understanding and really cares about her students, she wants to see them do well but she also wants to create the best people to send out into the workforce. She is tough to make sure you will be successful post-college.

Jen is absolutely one of my favorite professors at UVM! She's like a mother to me. If ever I'm upset, I know that I can go to her for a hug and a good cry. She cares so much about all of her students, and she will make sure that you do well in her class.

Jen is wonderful!! She is very intelligent, understanding and super passionate about the material. Class is structured so differently each day that it makes it fly by (so you learn effective teaching styles!). I learned a lot in this class and the nature of it allows you to be an individual and stand out. Jen made this class so interesting and fun!

Jen is a wonderful teacher. If you behave in class and actually DO the homework you won't have any problems. She and Lia are both approachable and always willing to talk to students about anything that is on their mind.I think she is a great example of a hard working college professor.

UVM would be lost without Jenny. She is a shining star who cares about her students and goes above and beyond to make sure ALL students (not even necessarily her OWN students) are getting all they can out of the program. She rocks!

Comment:
Jenny is kind and extremely knowledgeable about learning and development theories, but she has never actually taught in a high school, and it shows. I don't feel that I am learning much from this class at all. Boring and pretty useless in terms of applying information to a classroom. Somewhat idealistic.
