He's okay at best, relies pretty heavily on the book, wastes time in class by lecturing about unimportant things or gets distracted pretty easily. A majority of the time, refuses to inform students what is specifically on exams and quizzes (no study guides).

Middaugh is very hard but very fair. He tells you what will be on the test and what to study. He also has informative lectures and helpful assignments.

Middaugh assigns a lot of work and expects a lot from his students but he will help you if you need it. His office hours are a life saver. Notes are a must, and if you fall behind, the study guides are going to seem endless. So long as you pay attention and take tons of notes, he'll be a favorite.

As a SCM/Project Management Major, you will need to take this course. It is not much harder than the prerequisite MGMT 410. There is one group project, and a few tests. He provides study guides, so there is no reason to not do well. He is a good professor, who is vastly underrated.

If you're new to coding, just drop him. He relied WAY too heavily on the book to do the teaching for him. Almost every week, he made us write a program that we knew nothing about because he barely taught us about it, then required us to write a line by line algorithm. On top of that, he also required us to answer review questions, in detail.

Seems like a nice guy at the beginning, but does not give credit where credit is due. The group project is a complete joke. Unless you read the textbook and his 80 slide PowerPoints word for word, you will not pass. Don't work hard, you won't get the grade you deserve.

He knew what he is doing but as a professor, he isn't the best choice. Be ready for everything you can learn outside from class. This is not high school where you can read book and got an A- he will prepare you to be one of the best candidate for job in the future, ask him for advice then you will get more than that. Group work + show your work.

This course was poorly taught with little direction during each lecture. Exam questions that were targeted at theory were not properly taught in class and contained many obscure statements that could be interpreted in different ways. If you take any of his courses and do not self learn, expect your future position to be glorified help desk.

Just doesn't seem like he cares about his classes. Very vague assignment requirements. Makes many typos and errors in his rubrics. Reuses course material from previous semesters and forgets to update it. If you can, take anybody but him. Unfortunately, there are courses where he's the only instructor. If you have to take those courses, god bless.

Where to start with Middaugh. If you're taking IST or SRA at Penn State Harrisburg you will probably have the misfortune of having him at least once. Does vague examples in class only loosely related to the (exceedingly difficult) weekly labs due. Obviously inconvenienced when asked for help outside of class. Get comfortable with Stack Overflow.

Shows a couple examples in class and cuts you loose. Prepare to do a lot of googling and overall self-learning. His expectations are high and he is real world knowledgeable but his style is not for me. There is a group project with vague requirements. You will learn a LOT from stackoverflow, bookmark it.

I did not like Middaugh at all. Some issues came up with my group project and he was not ver accommodating to what happened. Takes material straight from UPark some tests are tough and sometimes he adds some of his own questions which don't even make sense. Definitely not someone I would recommend taking.

He's an okay Prof. When he teaches in class, it is easy but when you try to do it yourself its hard, so ask lots of questions. Labs are confusing.

Well, he's an okay professor. It all depends on what type of student you are. I wouldn't recommend him but if you had to take his course you'll have to adapt to his style of teaching.

Pretty impressive teaching capabilities. You will learn more with Professor Jesse than any other professor in dept. You have to work hard from the beginning to get A. Homework guidelines are mostly confusing, so make sure to ask him twice about HW submission requirements, or you will miss points. Fair Grader, AWESOME TEACHER!.

This was the hardest course I ever took (rightfully so, because it was the senior capstone course). Prof. Middaugh was a tough grader and gave you a LOT of work to do, but it was up to you to plan and execute. Some of his instructions are unclear but he answers emails regularly and will meet with you in person. Don't buy the books--useless.

This was my senior capstone class. I think the professor is a nice guy and very easy to talk to. I feel like his project requirements were a bit unclear at times and difficult to understand. However, he is always willing to explain what he means and grades fairly. If you put in the work and try hard, you will do well in his course.
