Comment:
Prof is less interested in teaching and more interested in just being there and socializing. He likes to tell stories and sing songs and be full of himself, but you do learn some things in the class. It is fun but his personality is devoid of genuineness. He is almost always sarcastic and vacant. Nonetheless, he is very smart just not serious.

You barely use the book. This class isn't too bad if you pay attention and take lots of notes. I got a B because he gives you copies of the tests so you can memorize them before you take it. Except for the first test you are on your own. Your whole grade is based on what you got on the final. I ended with a B and usually only studied the night B4

Great teacher, although the class isn't really based off of learning from the book ...You must take good notes! He is really passionate about the Italian culture as well, so there are always great stories told in class.

He is a great teacher and his class is really easy. All you need to do is know the pratice tests he gives you, they are so easy to memorize. He is really passionate about Italy and he has a wonderful heart. It's a class that requires a lot participation, but thats the whole point of learning a language right?

DON"T TAKE HIS CLASS!!!! i thought i was going to learn how to speak italian instead i came out learning nothing! he likes to tell stories and doesn't teach by the book so don't even buy it.I NEVER THOUGHT there was a teacher like him. HE just comes into class and teaches whatever his heart desires. If you like organized teachers DON"T TAKE HIM!!!!

He really isn't a good teacher at all. He's a fun guy but leaves you completely and totally confused and unprepared for Ita2. Also oddly flirtatious with female students. Do not take him if you plan on going further in Italian, but if you just want to waste some time singing pointless songs then he is the way to go.

Gianni makes every class entertaining and informative he does teach in a very different way that works for me i am very musical. dont know why people are complaining about the tests being easy..its easy credit and GPA boost.considering we are all in community college and only want transfer credits. so cut the guy some slack. hes GREAT. get over it.

Nice guy, BUT, if you have any desire to go on to Italian 2, he is absolutely not the teacher to go with. I got an A in his class, I just started Italian 2 and will probably have to drop it because he did not even come close to preparing us for the advanced class. I can't believe I wasted 16 weeks of my life in that class.

AVOID!! If taken, ask questions until you get the answer. This teacher expects you to know the material before you learn it, is always late, and does a horrible job of teaching. Goes off on long story tangents, and you won't learn the basics (alphabet, sentence structure, etc) of ITA unless you ask from the start. TAKE THE OTHER TEACHER.

Poor teaching levels, he skips many sections because he does not go through the book. For example, in my Italian 1 class we never ONCE went over the alphabet. His tests needed nothing but good memorization to pass.

Really unconventional and goes on tangents. Don't ask him a random question in the class because it'll ruin it for everyone. He tells you almost exactly what is on the tests which is good. Keep an open mind and he's enjoyable and a good teacher. Doesn't use the text book because it was horribly formatted.

Best teacher ever. I have a graduate degree from an east coast university and I felt that prof Accomando out taught them all. Out of the box teacher which is wonderful for foreign language. He expects a lot, but gives a lot. very entertaining.

I was excited for the class but he absolutely killed it for me. He didn't go by the book, so don't buy it; he tells irrevelant stories; and he almost made us do Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs... IN ITALIAN!!! I wasted my time in that class. Learned how to say wolf though... lupo. :/ Honestly, pick someone else. Please. Just do yourself the favor.

He is the most Awsome teacher I've ever had.The class was the way language classes should be.he wants you to learn the language like the babies from hearing and reading stories and singing songs! It is great.I'm taking italian 2 now but after experiencing his way of teaching, other classes feel extremely boring.

This professor's unique teaching style is perfect for learning a new language. If you want to sit in front of a book and memorize Italian grammar, then don't take this class. If you are timid don't take this class. His rules for learning grammar are clear and concise. The entire class was able to have a conversation in Italian. GREAT TEACHER!

I still decided to give this professor a try after reading the horror stories on here. I am sad to say that they are in fact true. This professor does not teach in any logical order. He also expects you to learn 90% of the material on your own. What is the point of paying for a class if you just learn it on your own anyways? Avoid at all costs.

HE is a good teacher. does helpful stuff to help you LEARN the material, sure you actual have to use your brain to try to MEMORIZE stuff. If you dont want to use that part of your brain then dont take a LANGUAGE class. oh, and dont buy the text book you dont need it. DO buy the itanian verbs book and a dictionary hope that helps :)

If you have the option of taking another professor i would seriously consider it. His class isn't extremely hard providing you can learn most of the test material on your own. He teaches you the language out of order. I like languages and excelled in Spanish but his class is very frustrating. Totally unorganized and unclear.
