He is an extremely intelligent professor that is at times the greatest communicator --- he makes up for this because he is always willing to help students if needed. If you are honest with him and make a strong effort, you will do well in his classes. He also rewards his students highly for participating in class discussions and asking questions.

He spends a lot of time talking about the assignments before you actually get to do them. Be prepared to understand computer jargon when he talks. He'll help you when needed, but if you pay attention to what he says and what you're doing. You'll be fine. He's okay overall.

He knows what hes talking about, but he's still an English teacher teaching web development, and occasionally it shows. If you don't to the reading and work, his tests are hard. Otherwise its cake.

Biggest nerd that ever hatched. Talks about Canada too much. Goes off topic for hours at a time (DO NOT TAKE HIS NIGHT CLASS!!!) Teaches QUARK, like anyone (professional) on Earth still uses it. Straight A student, got a C- in this class because he tests you on things he doesn't teach. Worst professor I've ever had in my life.

Class was boring, but for the papers we looked over the topics in class and did examples so that you'd know what to do. Also two tests during the year that aren't too hard if you look over the notes. Final research paper, no final exam. Pretty flexible, just talk with him.

lectures are horrible. all he does is list web sites and makes you go to them. i learned more by a friend helping me out side of class and the books and other web sites. pretty useless class.

I thought this class would be really cool and it kinda is but everything Ive learned Ive taught myself. Prof. Beatty is a very nice man but he does not teach material well, he just goes off in a million different directions. He expects things he didnt teach us and acts like this class is a job.

a brilliant man. although i dont always comprehend his lectures, i can tell he knows what hes talking about. he is very willing to help you if u approach him about a project or anything else. this class isnt the easiest, but he will help u get thru it if u ask him. definitely a good guy.

Intelligent jounalist and web designer. This mix requires one to not only be a "tech" person but be able to communicate intelligently. Some can't deal with this. If you are unable to communicate then what is the point to learning web design

i thought i would learn more about html, but all he does is go to different websites and critizes them. he would never leave time to in class hands-on. if you want to learn bout html DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!! very boring lectures, and he does not speak clearly.

He is a very nice man. He gives about 5 short papers and one research paper. He also gives 2 tests too, which are pretty easy. Not a hard grader, and he makes the class as good as it can get. I would recommend taking him.
