Best fitting theology that matches those who believe in freewill AND predestination together in unifying harmony. You don't have to be an exciting teacher to understand the profoundness of his theology that is not taught by any other professor in the school. You may be bored, but are there to learn or be entertained?

I used to be super interested in eschatology, but this class has repressed that interest. Not only are Dr. Hart's lectures so boring you will most definitely fall asleep, but he only teaches his view and assumes that everyone in the class automatically agrees with him. I was severely disappointed with this class and this professor.

If you're a young, John Hart is probably not the professor for you. Most kids are just looking for the right answer, something that just fits the typical evangelical belief system . John is not indecisive about his beliefs, instead he's giving you options, buckle up and think learn to critically for yourself, which will have practical implications

I don't know how his Bible classes are, but his teaching philosophy for Greek is confusing. I had already taken some Greek in high-school so it wasn't too hard for me, but I was sorry for the first time students that had to follow his circular teaching patterns. His expectations are extremely clear though and his syllabus is great.

If students don't learn from Dr. Hart then they must look at themselves. He is more than fair to those that need grace. Do not be overly casual in this class that will a problem for some. One of the better teachers at Moody, but humor not so much. Dr. Hart is concerned with practical application, not doctrine. Boost your GPA take his class.

I took the Gospel of John with him and it was by far the best class I took out of my 4 years of college. It's mind boggling to me that others don't see it. I think it's because he's not an entertainer-what most students look for. But if you are looking for a solid understanding of a book of the Bible and it's implications on life, look no further.

Daniel and Revelation. An amazingly kind and caring man. The most humble guy on campus and the first to admit that he's not the brightest. With that said, he's not very definitive in his beliefs and comes across as uncertain at times which can be frustrating. His lectures can be very boring.

He never has any idea what he's talking about. He has his own theological views that contradict the norm, but when asked questions about application to life, he cannot answer. His class is boring and so far I've learned nothing. He's extremely closed-minded, doesn't know how to make an issue relevant, and doesn't know how to teach.

He's fair and gracious in grading. He has a pastoral heart for the students and a desire to asnwer their questions clearly. He has a funny laugh. He provided helpful information on prophecy in the books taught. The coverage of the books seemed a little imbalanced. Some of his interp. are the same as Posttribulationists. very helpful class overall.

He was a really great prof. Everybody is being so self centered when they comment about him. He was having some serious family problems during my semester and still managed to invest in me personally and teach a class that covers a lot of ground in a little while. So take this guy if you can, if nothing more his spiritual life is really moving.

I agree, I felt bad for hating this class, but I came out hating it with a passion. I think it is useless to spend so much time talking about his computer programs and then telling us that we probably will never be able to afford that program. I still do not know what dispensationalism is, we read the book but never discussed.

I dont own a Macintosh Computer...but after hermeneutics, I sure know what software to use if I ever buy one. Beyond that, talk to a librarian or read a book about doing hermeneutics with hard materials.

He teaches a course with too much content to cover, so you have to have some skill at picking out the essentials. Other than this he's really cool, though I'd like to spend the first 15 minutes of class learning about our subject and not his family or his wife's horses or his son's motor cycles or his soccer team or his Jewish friends from Indiana

I agree. Students have lost the ability to comprehend information without entertainment. Dr. Hart has substance and clarity. Say what you like about his teaching style, but his content is right on...and his spiritual life is a model to live by.

It's so cliche at Moody to say that Dr. Hart is a bad teacher because his teaching style is boring. Who the hell cares? Unlike most theology profs, he presents a variety of solid material that actually stimulates critical thinking.
