156 was pretty easy and if you love music it's pretty interesting seeing how music evolved. Professor Jordan's a good guy and he's helpful if you have to talk to him about anything. The powerpoints are pretty monotonous but overall the class was easy and I definitely learned a lot about the history of music.

Yes, he does know what he's talking about. Yes, he's there if you need help. But, he's still boring. All we did was watch power points and the occasional documentary. MUS 156 is an good alternative to a history course, though.

i absolutely hate this class. take theater instead, it would be so much easier and save you the time. although all he does is lecture the entire class time, and the homework assignments are easy, his tests are ridiculously hard. this class is a pain the ass

this class was ridiculous. I've had 8 years of music background and still got a b in this class because I got D's on all of his tests!!! He uses the same stuff every semester. This class is great for people that don't know how to read because all he does is read the slides to you.

Lecture was boring, but if you don't have a background in music, you should really pay attention. Worksheets, papers, and tests are fairly easy if you do all the readings, review notes, pay attention to the lectures, and do the listening exercises.
