John Pantalone is the best. He doesnt use a textbook or power point really cause hes got the real world experience. He knows what good work is and hell explain clearly where you went wrong and how to improve. Each class is fun because hes not afraid to make jokes about anything including his students. He cares about the students.

This man is a real wild one lemme tell ya. He has the most amazing personality and functions both as a Professor and as entertainment. Very funny. Class itself is pretty easy, but missing lectures will hurt you because he doesn't put much online. Tests are easy if you take good notes and pay attention.

-One paper -3 exams and the final -SHOW UP, you need the notes for the tests and he doesn't really use his sakai so it's in class or trust someone to give you exactly what he says -Gives you study guides for the tests that give you everything you need

Comment:

Professor Pantalone is a very fun and energetic professor. His lectures are very in-depth, and he will definitely make sure you pay attention to them. He's eccentric, but also very intelligent. Not everything is graded by him due to the size of his class, but is perfectly willing to reconsider a grade if you feel it is incorrect.

Comment:

Probably the funniest professor at URI. He makes class really enjoyable and simplifies the material. Reading the chapters helps with more understanding but honestly you'll do well just showing up to class.

Prof Pantalone is hilarious and his class is super interesting. Its an easy class, the textbook isnt used at all (I didnt even buy it and I got a high A), so if you take good notes or find the quizlet online you can easily get an A without too much studying.

Pantalone is an amazing professor, but you have to be tough in order to handle him. He is much harder on journalism majors than other students. He clearly has a passion for good journalism and expects his students to learn and pay attention. He has a tendency to yell... a lot, but it always comes from a place of actually caring about his students.

Good class a little boring but professor Pantalone makes it fun. Often picks people out of the audience and jokes with them. Easily one of the best professors I've had. If you can take a joke take this class.

Professor Pantalone is a straight shooter who keeps lectures interesting and encourages you to think critically about the world around you. As long as you show up, listen and follow directions, you will have no problem passing this class and you may even get more out of it than you expect.

He is hilarious. If you don't have a good sense of humor, do not take this class. He pokes fun at people but it is good natured. His powerpoints are lectures are pretty straight forward. The class can be interesting, but can also seem to drag on at times. 3 tests, 1 writing assignment, 1 final.

The lectures in this class are very interesting. Its simple go to class, listen and take good notes. You will get an A if you do all of those things. No matter what this professor always keeps you on your toes with his comments and teaching. Do not buy the textbook because study guides are provided! There are 3 tests, a paper and the final exam.

He keeps it interesting. Lectures are a must. You need the textbook considering a good portion of his exams are based on the definitions. I stopped reading the chapters after a while. Its good to review before class so you know what hes talking about. His quizzes and exams are a bit tricky but if you study you'll be fine.

He's very funny, you just can't take him seriously if he insults you, he doesn't actually mean it. Great class, I would take again. Its a huge lecture but he keeps your attention the entire time. Don't buy the book, you don't need it. His 3 tests an final exam are what he says in class, so go and take notes. Easy A, just show up.
