He's an alright teacher, but his expectations are very high for a mandatory freshman class like LBST 2101. Be ready to participate in class and do the assigned readings. Otherwise, you're screwed.

Great professor who explains very well. Always there to help you and doesn't mind questions or extra tutoring. Gives lots of extra credit and even sets up study sessions before tests on the weekends.

So this class was literally the easiest class I have ever taken, it felt like I was back in high school. The topics are very interesting and easy to pay attention to. Tests are essay format, but you get to bring in a cheat sheet (front and back). Plus everything you do in class is done in your assigned group, so easy. Love him, he is very nice.

Professor Smail is extremely intelligent and has an awesome sense of humor. One of the only classes I would retake. He does make you work for the A though. Assigns three tests and has many quizzes. Also everything you do except for the tests and some quizzes is group work.

Phenomenal professor, very difficult class. He is very helpful in explaining things if you don't understand it the first time. All tests are; a DBQ, "Identification" which is just explaining what some key terms are, and an Essay. Take advantage of any extra credit opportunity you can and you will be successful.

Great Professor, hard class. Smail is willing to work with you outside of class to make sure you do well on the exam. If you go to class, do the assignments, and pay attention you can get an A, just don't slack off. On the exam you get to bring a cheat sheet which is helpful. I actually liked the class and I didn't think I would. Smail is great!!

If you are not good at history do not take this class! In my opinion, his powerpoints do not help at all because they are just pictures with one or two words. He assigns a lot of reading each week and gives homework every day of class. Unless you are good at history, you are going to have to put in a lot of effort to do well.

He is an easy teacher if you do the work. He allows you to bring in two peices of notebook paper on test days. He does discussions on Moodle. We had to write a long paper. A lot of work, but he is fair. I made an A in his class. Do the work and you will be fine.

Had him last semester, and I must say that many of the reviews just aren't accurate. He can be a little daunting to approach, but if you come to him he will help you in any way he can. His tests are difficult, but once you figure out how he wants things answered they are much easier. If you are looking for a class that you can skate by in, don't ta

As long as you use the notes which he posts online you will be fine. You even have an option of a review session which you get extra credit (and they highlight the big things on the test). You get 2 pages of notes to use on every test, need I say more.

He tries to scare you the first week of class. If you go to class, or even get the notes from online you will be fine. Go to the review sessions, they help a lot, plus you can get some EC. Also, make a good cheat sheet and the tests are pretty simple. I would recommend him.

His class was hard and he gave a lot of information, but the cheat sheets you get to have defintly help you get A's on the tests as long as you come to class and go to the review sessions. Overall hes a pretty good teacher.
