Beagle was one of the best professors I've had in my entire life. He made history interesting to me. He's charismatic, very animated during his lectures, and cares a lot about what he's teaching. If you have to take a history class, I highly recommend taking it with him.

Comment:
Professor Beagle is very inconsistent with his grading on the response papers. He also only grades 4 things the entire year. I feel as though I should not have gotten the grade I recieved, I worked very hard in that class and on those response papers. His corrections are grammatically not correct.

Beagle is a great history professor. He is very passionate about history, which is evident in his lectures. He is very lively and entertaining. Beagle really tries to get students to increase their liking to history, and in my opinion, he does a great job at it. History is one of my least favorite subjects, but his class is one of my favorites.

He is definitely one of the most enthusiastic professors out there. His lectures are amazing, and he tries to make you enjoy learning no matter how dull the topics may seem. He also encourages students to participate and expects you to do the recommended readings, which would help you with writing the papers. Time goes by fast in this class!

Loved his class. He is very passionate about the material and sticks to the point in his lectures. The only grades are for homework papers, response papers, the midterm, and final. As long as you pay attention in class the papers aren't that difficult. He grades fairly and as long as you completely answer the prompts you will receive a good grade.

He is very enthusiastic about what he teaches which makes the class bearable. The only grading criteria is 6 essays and he grades harder than any English teacher I've ever had. He expects too much from a class mostly made up of non-history majors by making us read about 6 full books on top of other articles.

Lectures are very informative and always line up with assigned readings/assignments. The only assignments you get are response papers, and you get to choose which ones you want to do, just as long as you do 3 per each half of the semester (3 pages each). I had to buy 5 different books for this class. Reading is vital in order to do the papers.

He loves history so much and it's apparent! His lectures are interesting; I don't even like history, but this was my favorite class this semester. He only has a few things for grades, which makes it difficult to get an A. Use his office hours or email him for feedback on papers; he wants you to succeed. You will use all books assigned.

Without a doubt the worst class I've had to take. Very difficult grader for a 100- level course and doesn't account for students that just need the course to graduate. Final grade is only based on 4 papers, midterm, final and participation. He's very enthusiastic about the material. If I could go back, I definitely WOULDN'T take his class. Bad idea

Professor Beagle is the best professor I have had at WNE. He takes a genuine interest in his students and his lectures are fantastic. The only thing to keep in mind is that he expects every student, regardless of major, to give a 110%, and if you put in the time, you will see that Prof. Beagle will really notice and it will reflect in your grade.

Very enthusiastic in class. Loves the subject. If you want a good grade you will have to put in A LOT of effort. He is always willing to help and review your work before you hand it in. He gives tons of feedback! The papers are analytical and you must read the little books he assigns. He makes the dullest topic interesting. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND

Clear and interesting lectures. No quizzes/exams. Grades on 6 thorough exam prompts (will grade like an English prof.) and class participation. Class will require more effort than average Gen Ed if you want a good grade.

Amazing professor. May be difficult at times but he is a nice guy and he will bend over backwards to help AS LONG AS you do your part in the class. Just attend class, take notes, do the literary readings, and study as well as do the response papers and you will be perfectly fine.

Very difficult to get a good grade. You can hand in a paper that he helped you on and what you think could be the best paper you ever wrote and get back a barely passing grade. Lectures were seldom entertaining and exams were a pain. only take this class if you are very passionate about the subject, otherwise find an easier class that may be better

I took this class because it sounded interesting. He is definitely very passionate and animated. He expects very, very thorough answers with details. He uses many smaller pieces of literature as oppose to a text book. He is fair but expects you to know the material.

I used to hate history and this class is seriously so interesting. It all makes sense when he teaches and I'm retaining the information. I struggled with history all of my life and if you are like that too, take this class. Its pretty easy and you actually learn a lot. He is animated and passionate and keeps your attention. Love his class! TA
