Dr. Ps class was a lot of work, but loads of fun! The material is kind of dry but hes a funny guy and does his best to give mental breaks and make the info interesting. There are four exams, but theyre easy to do well on if you attend class and study. Not to mention that he gives lots of extra credit for attendance!

I have learned a lot in this class. Dr. Pettibone has great lectures and fun engaging activities during class. He gives real-life examples which make the information easier to understand. His tests are EXTREMELY easy if you study the terms on the study guide. He also gives extra credit which is how I have a 102% in the class.

Pettibone is a great, hes funny and nice but I didnt get a whole lot out of the class. I didnt really like the lectures, they were boring, and just too much information to process. He tells you to study the lectures but even if you study lectures and book it doesnt prepare you. The tests are hard and extensive, 60+ questions+matching not a easy A.

Dr. Pettibone was one of my favorite professors at SIUE. I had him for Psych 208 & decided to take him again for 311 b/c I enjoyed his classes so much. He always explained things in a way that piqued my interest while helping me learn a lot. I did try in this class, but it wasn't hard&was fun. Dr. Pettibone is always willing to help&go over things

When it comes to Statistics, it's better safe than sorry: I didn't understand a lot of the material, and only closer to the end of the semester started asking questions. Once you speak up, Dr. Pettibone will keep explaining until you get it. The knowledge of theory is necessary, otherwise the A's in computation won't save you from an overall B.

He gets terribly off topic and often times doesn't even get to the lecture. Was not helpful at all and expected his students to already be experts in statistics

Dr. Pettibone is one of the best teachers I have had at SIUe. He is passionate about his classes and never once turned me down when I asked for help or guidance. It is also clear that he really cares about his students and want them to succeed. The material can be difficult, but he is the kind of professor that will be there to help you if you ask.

Dr. Pettibone is a really cool guy. He tries to keep his lectures relevant and entertaining despite the dryness of his subject. I was worried about cognitive psych, but he makes the material clear, gives plenty of extra credit, and even does online discussion before every test. How many professors will do that? Not many.

In my opinion, this class was much too advanced to be a 200 level class. If you're prepared for a difficult class take him but if you're not find someone else. He's nice but the class workload was way heavier than it should have been. He assumed we learned everything in PSYC 111.

Dr. Pettibone is a wonderful teacher. He really cares about his students and wants them all to succeed. He always tries to make sure that everyone understands the material. To get an A you have to 1. go to class. 2. take down his notes off of blackboard 3. do the study guide. There's even a website to help you with MC. Ask him about it.

Be prepared to STUDY and COME TO CLASS. It's the only way you will get an A. Dr. Pettibone is a great professor, and the material is easy to absorb if you come to class everyday. He throws in humor to make dry material interesting. He also gives LOTS of extra credit on random days, so another incentive to come to class.
