Comment:
Brilliant philosopher, mediocre teacher, at least in a larger classroom setting. I'm sure he would be excellent in a smaller seminar-style class, but his lectures and discussions were not very good. Quite arrogant towards students and colleagues. Skipped large and important parts of the syllabus because he would drag out other parts unnecessarily.

This professor is totally underrated! He is the real philosophy scholar who is serious about every word he utters. He doesn't speak quickly but every word he said is worth pondering. Studying Kant with him is one of the best class experiences I've ever had. Again, appreciated only by those who truly love philosophy.

Vogel is one of the kindest and most intelligent people anyone can ever encounter. You are lucky if you ever get to know him. Whoever said he is "not intelligent" clearly never should have been admitted to Amherst in the first place. He is amazing. Take his classes.

Prof. Vogel is too smart for his own good. If you do the reading, pay careful attention, & learn to overlook the pauses & 'umm's' you will realize that each sentence he utters is a delicately constructed gem. His classes take effort and attention to detai

I have no idea what he was talking about... All I got was UMMMM and some other mumbled crap that had nothing to do with the physics. Shoulda stuck to the books he assigned. They were much better than him.
