great professor. he doesn't force his idea of art on people. instead he really promotes creativity while simply trying to build fundamental skills and ways of looking at the subject. he's descriptive but very clear for an art teacher:) and he's quite fair and has a sense of humor imo...he treats everyone the same and i respected him a lot for that.

Painiting I. He is very knowledgeable about the craft and is very helpful if you ask for help. Class is not hard, but busy. The only thing I dont't like is that he can talk for a very very long time. Critiques can take an hour or longer and I sometimes fall asleep when he shows slides. Sometimes I feel like working, but he just goes on and on . . .

I found Professor Sweeney to be a little unhelpful... it was like he wouldn't acknowledge to basis of my frustrations with painting, and instead would point out something else that I wasn't really frustrated with and tell me to work on that. I have improved greatly during my time in his class, but it annoyed me that he never learned my name.

He's revolutionized the way I see the figure and all organic form, for that matter. Take his courses if at all possible, going to his class makes my day.
