Mz. Way seems pretty burned out, and doesn't do an awful lot of teaching. Does not collect or grade homework in college algebra, but the majority of what you learn, you learn from the book. If you're taking her expecting to skip the homework, reconsider unless you already know the material.

Comment:

She's a fine teacher, except that every once in a while it seems that she forgets that she has homework assigned and does unrelated group projects during class instead of going over the notes which is incredibly frustrating. Good thing the homework is not graded. Not bad overall, but goodness she can be extremely frustrating with homework!

Comment:

She talks about math like Bob Ross talks about painting - very soothing. Gives lots of time to work problems during class and will walk you through things if you're confused. Very accessible and nice. Test are a little hard, but if you read over your notes right before you take tests, you'll be fine. I'd take math with her again if I had to.

I took Intermediate Algebra with Prof Way. She was very patient with her students, even w/ people in the class who obviously did not do the hw or pay attention in class yet were rude when they didn't understand the lesson. She moves at a slow pace which is helpful. I did the HW and had an A all semester, but didnt study for final so ended with a B

If math comes easily to you than this class will be a breeze. On the other hand, if you need a slow paced class with lots of examples and definition clarification like myself, you may find yourself barely keeping up. She spring group projects worth points unannounced so GO TO CLASS, home work is not graded, be prepared for exams. Period.

This is my first week with with her as my Algebra I teacher. This is what I've gathered so far. She will: help you, speak softly in lecture, not go into thorough explanation unless you ask for it. To succeed in this class: Know terms/definitions and practice how to use them. Ask for help sooner than later. The class goes fast paced.

she is horible, Worst teacher I have ever had. She takes 5 points off for a minor mistake. She is not helpful, grading is horible. Choose someone better. Or you will regret it

They class is pretty easy if you excel at Math. Few issues I had. It is extremely difficult to get her test done within the 50 minute window and you feel super rushed and can't check your work (something they preach for you to do over and over). She also does a random "attendance tax" I call it. In class assignments that are unannounced. Annoying.

Goes over a lot of definitions which are not useful. Wish spent more time doing example problems. Barely teaches how to do problems. Don't need to do homework though. If you can grasp how do it the problems on your own, okay teacher. if need to see problems worked, dont recommend this teacher.

Math is NOT my subject, but I passed the class. She is very helpful and will work with you, don't be afraid to ask for help. The book is needed to do homework, however she doesn't grade homework, but uses the problems as extra credit.

Best Calculus teacher I've ever had. I took Pre-Calc in high school, then took her Business and Applied Calculus over the summer, and it was EASIER than Pre-Calc. She explains it in a way that helps you to see it. SO GLAD I got her for a teacher! Make sure you do the assignments because that's really how you learn! =]

Karon is absolutely the least helpful teacher I have ever had in the history of my schooling. She is un reasonable and her grading is outrageous, if you are already good at math the class wont be hard but if you are someone that tends to need help on the subject I guarantee you wont do well.

Took her over the summer...great teacher. I thought the class was fast paced as well, but found out it is the Math Departments curriculum...not Mrs. Way's. Overall would highly recommend! Math is not my favorite...but Mrs. Way made it easily bearable! *TAKE HER OVER OTHERS*

Overall, if you know math then she is ok. If you are not much of a math person, then you will not do so well. She tends to do "extra credit" questions on the board, and you get some pointage, but not a lot. She really doesn't "teach"... You teach yourself through the non mandatory homework. So if you don't do it, you are basically screwed.

Shes a horrible teacher I would not recommend for anyone. She doesnt even collect the homework so thats not useful. Does not help you much and makes mistakes all the time. She refuses to give partial credit which doesnt help you at all. Very blunt teacher and gives you no motivation to want to learn from her. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND!!

I loved her! She did a great job explaining things especially if you asked specific questions. Only thing I disliked was she didn't grade homework so you have to motivate yourself to do it. But it's definitely worth it because her tests are based from the homework. Overall I highly recommend here for Calc 1.

This teacher is not recommended. I felt like I was taking math from someone who had never taught before. Her scheduling was terrible, and she was constantly writing the wrong answers on the board. If you're not good at math, I wouldn't recommend her.
