You really couldn't ask for a better neuroanatomy prof. The course definitely requires a lot of work... but if you start studying way in advance and learn all the notes and memorize all the pictures you will be fine. I don't think she is teaching this class anymore, which is a real shame.

Comment:

Amazing professor but very difficult class. I normally get A's in neuro but got a B. However, you absolutely MUST stay on top of the material for an A (I didn't so it's my fault). I still learned a ton and would highly recommend this as Dr. Todd cares a great deal about her students. Only criticism is that there wasn't much on behavior or psych.

Extremely helpful and interesting. Intimidating, for sure, but genuinely cares about students and their grasp on the material. Reviewed the material frequently enough that it never got overwhelming, when it easily could have.

Good prof, but has high expectations. Watch out for the final and don't spend too much time on the old material prior to the second midterm. Also she has mood swings, somedays she can be really nice, other days she will snap.

This lady is wonderful! She makes sure everyone is on the same page, though you must watch out if you don't like being put on the spot to answer questions in class - this is one of her favourite techniques to ensure that everyone is keeping up. She has tons of interesting stories to tell from the field, always relevant! Highly ecommended.

KGT is by far the best prof I had in my undergraduate years. If you have any interest in neuroanatomy, there is no one you can learn more from. Her lectures are interactive, she constantly reviews to make sure eveyone is getting the big concepts, and she encourages you the whole way though the course. You won't find a better prof!

If you want a class where you will learn then take a class with Dr. Todd. If you want a university class that treats you like a high school student then don't take a class with Dr. Todd. I didn't do that well on the final but I learned a lot more than just neuroanatomy in 475.

Dr. Todd is the BEST professor I've had in my 4 years of Neuroscience at U of A. She genuinely cares about each student's performance, and goes out of her way to ensure you understand the concepts. She does a lot of in-class review, which helps you learn the concepts and means you can do less at-home studying.

There aren't enough things I can say about Dr.Todd. She is by far the best prof I have ever had at the U of A. I'm a psy maj, and I thought 475 would be hella hard, but if your willing to work your booty off, you'll do well. This is one of the classes where if you put in the effort, your mark will show that. Highly highly recommended!
