Dr. McEvoy expects a lot from her students, but she's an amazing teacher. If you're an English major, DEFINITELY take her 300 level course before you have to do your Capstone. The tips she offered our class were invaluable. Her classroom was very relaxed but her instructing method was focused and informative. One of my favorite professors!

She expects a lot, but it's easy to get an A if you turn everything in on time and dedicate some time to it. Lets you chose your writing topics, and offers many bonus writing assignments to help your grade. Very helpful with reviewing papers and portfolios. She will annoy you if you're like me and you like using the oxford comma!

She is a great teacher. She is really funny and makes you question everything you believe in a way that makes you come to your own decisions on things and not just on what you?ve always believed. There is a lot of reading and essay writing but the topics are usually pretty interesting, as well as any movies that we watched.

Very helpful, loves her job, is straightforward about the information that will show up on exams. Doesn't mind reviewing papers with you if you go to her. Only downside is that it's very hard to make up for missing even one of her classes.

Dr. McEvoy is a really nice and good teacher. She is also a super easy paper grader. Basically, if you do your comments and attend class you'll get an A. Also, she's probably the only prof at W&J that offers extra credit!

Great professor. Teaches well, but expects some effort on the part of the student. If you just try a little an A is very easy to obtain. Always willing to review your papers and help outside of class. I never liked English, but after her class I understand it better and have more respect for the subject.

Made a class that was supposed to be easy a living hell.... expects everyone to be good at literary analysis and writing....grades writing assignments VERY harshly....basically she takes ENG 190 waaayyy to seriously and needs to grade like other normal teachers
