He is so difficult and unfair. He is rude and not understanding. He cannot answer questions in a clear and efficient manner. There is limited practice unless you can go to his office hour session (which is hard because its only once a week and he is unwilling to meet at another time). I did not like his class, or his attitude.

one of the worst professors I ever had. He was not willing to listen to students' needs, uncooperative, and showed no sympathy or care at all towards anyone. HIs exams and quiz are hard, and no other forgo professors teach as hard as he does. VCU CLC tutors, other Orgo class TA's, and normal tutors say that his teaching is hard and they cant help

Super smart, a natural at teaching tbh. He gives extra credit (more than 100 points if you are willing to work for it). No curves. Has quizzes which help prepare for the test. Very tough grader tho. Partial credit is hard to receive, usually its just full points or no points on a question. His notes are so useful going to class is a MUST.

3 tests, 6 quizzes, 1 final, an acs final and homework. There are several extra credit opportunities given throughout the semester. He lectures by writing notes on a sheet of paper so attending class is necessary. His office hours are extremely helpful, he goes over specific problems and hints at test/quiz problems. An A starts at 850/1000 points.

I will start off with a positive thing: he is incredibly knowledgeable and knows all of the material well. BUT the class was very hard, orgo is already a tough subject, but I ended up dropping and retaking it with another professor and getting an A. The Ex credit was a joke during my semester- you have to be chosen to go up and answer.

He's the best! This class is pretty easy if you put forth a bit of effort. His notes prepare you well for the quizzes and exams. He'll also give you a lot of practice problems if you go to office hours. He gives a LOT of extra credit, so be prepared to answer questions in lecture. I got over 100% in the class because of all the extra credit.

Lectures by writing all his notes on a piece of paper. He gives three tests, 6 quizzes and a final. He gives lots of extra credit opportunities which is the only reason I got an A. Tests and quizzes can be rather difficult. His portion of the final he take whatever points you get and multiplies by 1.5 and that replaces your lowest the test.

I would not suggest taking this class unless you're good at doing ridiculously hard FR tests and quizzes with a limited amount of time. If you need to think for longer than 2 minutes on one mechanism/problem do not take this class. Sure, he gives extra credit but that's if he calls on you. Does clicker review the class before the exam, doesn't help

Don't be intimidated by his accent. He's actually a very decent professor. He gives you the reactions you need to know. Make flashcards and go over them a bunch of times before the exam. Also, he has review sessions and those are helpful too because he hints at exam questions. LOTS of extra credit if you're brave enough to answer questions in class

best orgo guy. drops lowest quiz. 1st quiz is extracredit. Final replaces lowest exam. A is 85%, He is hard, but clear and makes you learn. A lot of extracredit in exams and in class. you need to understand orgo to do well in exams. can't "just" memorize. Very funny outside class. love his russian accent. for notes go to class and write after him.

Tests are challenging: 95% of the test is FR, know names of the reactions, and compounds he writes down. Handwritten notes that he will not post on BB. Will move quickly through the notes, and might get frustrated if you ask him to slow down. Gives extra credit that could be worth 1-2 quizzes. Go to his review sessions. HW will have 30+ problems

He is very smart and makes an effort to know his students. He gives a lot of extra credit for class participation, does reviews before tests, and has review sessions during his office hours which are super helpful. His quizzes are a little tough but they do not count for much and they tests are very fair.

very nice professor. he seems tough tho. He does NOT post anything on BB, just syllabus &grades. All notes must be taken in class, copying everything he writes on the projector. gives TONS of extracredit. 3 tests x150pts & 2 finals ("written 100ptsreplaces lowest test x1.5" &ACS 250pts), 5 quizzes x20, HW 100. I got 1050/1000 coz of the extracdt

Tests are hard but if you go over the mechanisms and read the book plus his notes you should be fine. There's a total of 6 quizzes one on the first day of class so remember 301 stuff. Gives out extra Credit for doing examples can really boost a B to an A. Has homework which is worth 100pts and clicker ?s before each test which helps your grade.

If you actually wanna learn organic chem then take him. His tests are hard and all of them are short answers but this will prepare you for MCAT and all those exams. He is very helpful if you go to him, gives out extra credit so A/B is very doable. This is coming from a person who had to retake orgo 1.

Of course, he's tough because you aren't getting multiple choice but at the end of the day, you'll learn a lot. I dreaded in orgo 1 with other professors but did very well in his class because I actually understood what's going in. He loves mechanisms, pay attention to his favorite reactions; chances are they'll show up in quizzes and tests.

This professor is incredibly difficult. He gives an overwhelming amount of notes and gives his own final exam on top of the ACS at the end of the semester. He gives many chances for extra credit but many of them are not easily earned at ALL.

one of the best Organic Chemistry teachers. His russian accent makes the class even more entertaining, and makes you love mechanisms! Just do the homework, study your notes, and you'll be fine. If you really want to score that A, read the book and practice the problems in the book. I was overwhelmed with other classes but still got an A.

Half way through the semester with Sidorov, and I have a solid A so far. He's a great teacher. Pretty funny guy too. I think his tests and quizzes are straight forward as long as you can understand the mechanisms involved, what reactants are needed, what is ACTUALLY formed as a product, etc. He gives LOTS of opportunities for extra credit

Sidorov's tests are quizzes are very hard, so they make you study really hard for them. This means that you will actually remember something and you will use the knowledge on the your DAT and MCAT! This guy loves mechanisms, so know all of the ones that are covered in class + extra. He gives out extra credits + curve, so B is def possible, A. sure!
