She gives you excellent exam reviews. if you're big on class participation this is the perfect place to get an A. She's a very strong hearted professor and she will give you the business. if you show up and participate you do not need to rely on your reading so heavily. overall I've taken her multiple times and would recommend her to any classmate

Comment:

Although she seems tough and intimidating at first, she is an incredibly great prof. Lectures are very interesting but keep in mind she does not use powerpoints so you really need to be in class. Marks incredibly fair. Exams are very transparent and she gives you all the info you need to know to ace it!

Kelly is an amazing professor. She came off as rather intimidating at first. Shes very understanding and gives the questions to both midterm and finals. Easy paper and marker!! I am willing to take her Violence in the Family class!! Shes a gem!!

Go to class! Take good notes! Essay was fairly easily marked but did have to put in a little bit of work. Midterm and final exam were practically word to word questions from notes in class. Did not use textbook at all except a little for the essay. Could probably find it online somewhere.

I took this class in my first year and have waited until my third year now so I could take her again. Most interesting and informational class ever, she's blunt, to the point, and real. Not a class you can miss but she generally grades generously.

She is great teacher! Not a hard marker as long as you follow her rules. Class is mandatory, she uses her lectures to create test/exam. Textbook not needed. Would definitely take her class again!

Not going to lie, she is very intimidating. She posts literally nothing on D2L, so you have to go to class. She takes participation marks every single class. Very generous grader. I liked her, but I felt as though she tried to make her students agree with her opinions a bit too much.

ive never been 1 to leave a review for a prof but i love kelly sm. by far my fave course taken in my 3 years. she seems scary at first but the way she teaches her lectures is amazing. at first i was worried cause she doesnt post slides but the way she speaks about issues is much more engaging than ppw. goes over midterm/final in detail.

The BEST professor at Ryerson and one of the few people that have actually taught me something here. I love her. She is so smart, and she will teach you so much. I've taken 4 of her classes because she is that good. She is intimidating at first but once you understand how she works you will so benefit from taking this class.

She's hands-down the best professor I've ever had. At first she seemed really intimidating but she wants her students to succeed and it shows. Doesn't have or post PPT slides so you HAVE to show up and take notes to be successful. I was able to fill out 80% of her detailed midterm review from memory alone because she delivers her lectures that well

Kelly Train is easily my favourite professor. She doesn't sugar coat things and shell always be straight up with you. Don't be too intimidated by her and go see her for extra help because she is so helpful. Her lectures don't have slides but she is so passionate you will listen- trust me I have ADHD and I focus so well!

She's an amazing prof, took two of her classes because I love the way she teaches. She seems very tough but she is a very easy marker. Don't buy any textbooks just show up to class and take notes. She doesn't do power points and she gives her lectures verbally. Everything on her exams are what she says in lectures. Great prof and great classes!!

I was super anxious being in her class since I took it for the first time. There's no lecture slides and she doesn't post grades or slides still, online. ATTEND CLASS - if you miss class, you're pretty much ruining your chances to pass the class. I didn't use the textbook and I did very well - surprisingly! Take it, it was taught very well!

taking a class with Kelly Train was the best decision I've made at Ryerson. She is phenomenal. I did not care much about my general electives, but she made it not only interested but I learned a lot! Do not second guess taking her class!

this is one of the most inspirational profs I have ever had. Make sure you listen and take notes, the book is really small so you don't really do a lot of reading. she also gives you the test questions to help you prep
