Hands down the best professor at UC. Really knows how to teach and truly cares for the students. Functional Neuroanatomy will always be my favorite class because of him and his teaching methods.

Dr. King is the absolute best teacher in UC's Psych department. Take him for any and every class you can! Functional Neuroanatomy is the most interesting class I've ever taken. His lectures are engaging and exciting. He is also genuinely interested in helping you if you've got any questions, both inside and outside of class!

He's really knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches, but this class isn't easy. There are 2 papers, a short quiz every Monday and 2 Exams. He also has each student look up a recent study that relates to the class and has them spend about 10 minutes talking about it, kinda like a TED talk. He encourages talking to him outside of class.

This is an online class, so it's pretty easy. He posts lectures, but I didn't need to look at them. The homework you can do as many times as you need to get the grade you want and he gives you 3 opportunities to take the tests (there's 6). You do have to do a bit of research and some papers, but that's pretty on par for this class no matter what

Brains on Drugs is a great class, for a neurobiology major. If you are not a neuro-major, STAY AWAY. Dr. King is a great professor, his lectures are great, stories are fun(ny), class participation is good. However, this is not a course to be taken lightly. Lots of reading, HARD tests, and lectures you need to pay attention to. Good luck.

This class continues from Research Methods & Stats I. Tests were wicked hard and the homework was tough. The writing assignments are really what saved my grade. Dr. King gives us the chance for extra credit towards the end, which also helped my grade. This class was hard compared to part one. But Dr. King is there to help if you ask for it.

This was the class that I feared I'd do the worst in, but it wasn't bad at all actually. The lectures were great, he answered questions and he spoke in a way that you could understand. There's a test every week but it's not unbearable if you can tolerate it. There was homework every week but it wasn't overwhelming. Honestly it wasn't a hard class.

Dr. King is one of the best neuroscience/psychology professor at UC. His lectures are actually enjoyable and he gives so many great examples from his own research and the real world. He brings in a lot of current up-to-date research studies as well. He is extremely approachable and encourages his students to do well.

Dr. King replaced my professor 4 classes away from exam week. However, unlike someone from my class who posted earlier, I think he's exceptional. The content may be tough, but its a tough class. Dr. King does an amazing job explaining tough content and wants his students to succeed. He's an amazing professor, I strongly recommend him to anyone.

He took over my Functional Neuroanatomy class for the last 4 lectures, like another person has stated. However he is not trying to shove a whole semester down our throats. The material is hard and he has so far only covered one pathway in the brain which is not to much to ask for a 3000 level class.

He replaced my professor 4 classes before exam week. They are polar opposites in teaching styles. We hadn't learned anything with the previous professor, but there is no reason he should try to shove a whole semester into 4 classes and then add an exam (plus pop quizzes!) Also, he doesn't use PowerPoint and his lectures are hard to understand!

Genuinely cares about his students. Loves to meet outside of class, even if it's not about the class and you just want to talk about your plans for the future and need advice. Participate in class, ask questions and offer interpretations, and you'll do great. You get out of the course what you put into it, and it really doesn't take much effort.

Besides a handful of pop quizzes, everything for my class was online and available for you to complete whenever in the week was best for me. Let's us retake tests or take them late (with half the time). There were only 3 papers due and I was able to do all of them in a day. Lectures are interesting and entertaining. Would love to have him again.

Not a hard class really. There were homework assignments and writing assignments that came together into one huge research paper at the end. You had three attempts on each exam. Even though it's Prof. K's class, the TA's really did all the work and grading. And tests/quizzes/homework were graded by computer. He answers all emails in decent timing.
