THEE smartest person i have ever met. no teacher in any aspect of life has ever motivated me like professor Baker. i learned how to learn from him. the light that he lit in so many students will burn eternal. I was sorry to read of Dr. Baker's passing. He was a great instructor who talked TO and WITH his students rather than down to them. Very knowledgeable, passionate, and informative. Other professors could learn a few things from his engaging and approachable style and personality (hint to Dr. Elise Goodman). He will be missed.

I had Prof. Baker for History of Modern Europe and it was great! Talk about a guy who brings history to life, this class was actually very enjoyable! Forget memorizing meaningless dates and trivial info, what he teaches and asks you to remember on the test is actually useful later on in life! : ) Take him for 1,2,& 3 if possible!

I have him for Euro Hist II and he is amazing! He's enthusiastic and tells the history like a story. He's more interested that you know how one thing led to another and another (rather than dates). Only a handful of easy assignments. Take notes, come to class, study a little for the tests (tho I didn't), ask if you have a question and VOILA! A+

EXCELLENT professor! Very interested in history! Best quality is that he is willing to see BOTH sides of the issue. I got an A in his class. The key is to ace every quiz (and you do have a lot) and do well on the papers and the tests! The textbook is NOT mandatory, but it is helpful to have.

Mr. Baker really is an awesome teacher! He is so nice he is very respectful and will go out of his way to help students. His classes are very fun you pretty much are listening to stories the whole time so its never boring. I'm taking his class again, I already signed up for it! Wow...what an amazing class. Hands down the best Hist. prof. at RWC. Once you get used to the class format, it is fairly easy to do well. Well-structured and well-taught classes; I learned more with him in a year than I have ever before in any other Hist. class. A great challenge and a great class.
